Interesting situation now. Kirin is with OUE and Kirin will not accept any counter offer from other parties.
Think it's pretty hard for Thbev now to counter offer to hit its target by 29 Nov, unless it is much higher.

The bid is out. OUE bidding 9.08
Yeah, actually its beneficial for them to cooperate together, since ThBev only wants the softdrinks business and OUE wants some of the property assets and stuff.

ThBev buyover first and sell some of the assets to OUE, since i believe taking over softdrink business wont benefit OUE.
JUst hope Thbev won't bid BIG to consume whole of F& N.
Bc by doing so, their debt will increase more.
Idea situation will be both OUE & Thbev cooperate to get F& N. As Thbev initial target is only F& N beverage sector business....
Anyway see how things goes...interesting.

So will ThaiBev share go up or down tmr?

Maybe it's just politics and soap opera.
Then Charoen can reextend his deadline again, and then postpone and postone and offer $9.09 since i am quite sure F& N wont accept $9.08 seriously
This news come quite positive....GOOD luck to all.
Cheers

$9.08 per share,
True,

but i was abit afraid to sell them this afternoon, which i bought at 0.445.
If suddenly any news that brings back the price up, i may miss the chance.
so if OUE bids will Thbev shares goes up? or if it doesnt bid then it goes up?
Appreciate if someone can shed some light
Btw if got profit, profit first.....
If not, if got stuck in this one, no harm holding on as THbev FA is good.

But in long run, the acquisition of F& N will definitely bring THbev far...
This stock can be viewed as a long term stock.... if u purchased.
OUE high chance will not bid.
N im viewing THbev stock price will not get too much up if they really are the one to stomach whole of F& N.

Thai Beverage
Thai Beverage: SCB raise TP by 29% to $0.49 from $0.38, on back of a
better outlook for better spirits volume due to the minimum wage scheme,
and the investment in Fraser & Neave (F& N).
A bidding competition for F& N could provide further upside potential
as Thai Beverage (Thai Bev) might realise a capital gain. The co’s core
business has solid prospects, and house add that a rival mandatory
offer of say $10.30 for F& N would imply a valuation of $0.52 for
Thai Bev. F& N’s independent advisors have recommended a range of
$8.30-11.22. In any case, Thai Bev’s core business is in robust health
and house believe the market is missing its solid FCF yield of 6%

Actually the fundamentals of ThBev is quite good, though there is much speculation on this stock.

Sadly i bought at 0.390 sold at 0.425 and bought back at 0.445, now making loss.

Anyway, I wont be selling, if it really drops to all low 0.3 something, at most i ll be a longlong term invetstor.. at least got dividends. lol
Too bad for me :(
Also pending their quarterly report, if it is positive, then I'm likely to re-enter at the very near term. Otherwise, I may hold awhile more even if OUE decides to bid/not bid.
If OUE will not bid, the chances of them getting the majority is still low. Currently, including those who have accepted, they make only about 37% shares. Unless TCC Assets set a higher bid or manage to negotiate a price with Kirin that they are likely to accept, then the price will rise as they are very likely to have gained majority. They need 13% more, which is very difficult to gather from retail investors by 29th of this month (where the offer will lapse).

Can be assist to explain by looking at what signal by OUE will you re-enter?
Does it mean that if OUE will not bid, THBEV will get a beeter chance to win F& N and then THBEV will rise again?

Actually I'm not sure. Two of its associated companies have mixed results. Serm suk posted better than expected profits, while Oishi posted a net loss (less than $10m). It now appears to be focused on its core business. It's a risky bet and I've divested earlier, and am looking to re-enter pending OUE's bid.
If it does not match expectations, the downside is quite a bit. It's NAV is far from current price. Nevertheless, if there are good news from the F& N bid, it will cushion the fall in the next couple of days. OUE will let us know if they are bidding or not by tomorrow.

Anybody thinks 3Q12’s turnover will be better-than-expected gross margin profit?
If there is better profit, it will once again cross .445 with keen buying , cheers!
At this moment, THBEV still have upperhand? Do comment ....

Anbody knows that THBEV this coming finanical result is positive?
Nothing to worry. Thai Bev already has the upper hand.
ppl are waiting for more clarity if OUE will bid for F& N..
On top of that, they are late to announce their quarterly results, but the latest is by Wed.
