Singapore’s Straits Times Index dropped 0.2% to 3,064.90 as of the 12:30 p.m. trading break. Five stocks fell for every two that rose on the 30-member gauge.

Shares on the measure trade at an average 14.9 times estimated earnings, compared with about 17.4 times at the beginning of the year, according to Bloomberg data. The following shares were among the most active in the market.

Developers: Shares of homebuilders dropped on concern housing sales will continue to fall this month after the government announced measures to cool speculation in the property market.

“With the property cooling measures taking effect from Aug. 30, we expect sales in September to soften further, especially in the private mass housing segment,” Paul Lian, an analyst Goldman Sachs Group Inc., wrote in a note to clients. Developers sold 1,248 new homes in August, compared to 1,549 in July, a government report released yesterday showed.

CapitaLand (CAPL SP), Southeast Asia’s biggest developer, slipped 1% to $3.95. City Developments (CIT SP), Singapore’s second-biggest homebuilder, dipped 0.5% to $11.60.Keppel Land (KPLD SP), the property arm of the world’s largest builder of oil-rigs, declined 2.4% to $4.08. Allgreen Properties (AG SP), controlled by Malaysian billionaire Robert Kuok, fell 0.9% to $1.13.

BH Global Marine (BHGM SP), a supplier of equipment to the shipping and ship repair industry, advanced 4.6% to 34.5 cents. The company said its proposal to list Taiwan Depository Receipts has been approved.

Genting Singapore Plc (GENS SP), operator of one of two casino resorts in the city, climbed 1% to $1.99. Citigroup Inc. raised its share-price forecast to $2.45 from $1.55 and maintained its “buy” rating.

Olam International (OLAM SP), one of the world’s three biggest suppliers of cotton, dropped 2% to $2.96. Cotton futures dropped the most in two months on concern that textile mills will slow purchases after prices reached a 15-year high.

Singapore Airlines (SIA SP), the world’s second- largest carrier by market value, lost 0.3% to $15.96. The company said it filled 78.1% of seats in August, compared to 78.3% a year earlier, as it transported fewer passengers.

Singapore Telecommunications (ST SP), Southeast Asia’s biggest phone company, increased 1% to $3.10. Morgan Stanley raised the stock to “overweight” from “equal-weight” and increased its share-price forecast to $3.60 from $3.30.

Thomson Medical Centre (THOM SP), a Singapore-based hospital operator, surged 6.7% to 95 cents. Standard Chartered Plc initiated coverage of the stock with an “outperform” rating and share-price forecast of $1.10.

Genting Singapore target raised to $2.45 by Citi with Buy call

Citigroup lifts Genting Singapore (G13.SG) target price to $2.45 from $1.55, based on 15.3x 2011 EV/EBITDA vs 12.5x previously, according to Dow Jones.

Citi keeps Buy call; “given a duopoly, a significantly larger market size than we had originally anticipated and the higher margins given the low Singapore tax, we now believe it is appropriate to value Singapore at a 30% premium to Macau.”

Research house says while non-gaming attractions at Resorts World Sentosa will take considerable time to break even, they will nonetheless attract more visitors, potentially leading to more gaming revenue.

Shares +1.5% at $2.00.

I hope this will not affect the share price.
