I still remember very vividly only recently (2007) when our friend Newmoon posted here and had been warning all about a fall.

That was well before the big meltdown.

Those who had taken Newmoon seriously at that time would have definitely saved themselves from disaster.

And as you will remember, sure enough, only a few months after that, most people's blue chips were down to only a fraction of their prices...

And these people have still not recovered completely from those big losses even at this moment today...

So, the REC management have succeeded in reversing the downtrend, although for how long it remains to be seen. From now til the deal is sealed, hopefully before CNY (REC typically release its 2Q results in early Feb), I think there will be more accompanying good news in regards to this JV. At the very least, the rationale for this JV would be disclosed by then.
