Haha! Both ST & SPH are among the bluest of blue-chip stocks here trading at ~ 2x nav, consider defensive and resilient at the current environment, have directors buying in from open market recently, cannot have gone insolvent unless during wars......

How to choose? Well, u'll may have to look at its eps and gearing closer for a guide base on current trading price. I'll go for both if I got extra cash, if only one then this one loh.

Cutting loss should not be done based on fear feelings alone...

It should be based objectively on a stock chart point eg. breaking through a 'floor'.

But before that, one also should have bought based on a chart (ie. buy in at a low point)...

But if one is bearish on the bigger picture, one should never have bought at all ! ...Smiley

No pain no gain. AK hv to stick to my own trading rule, when to cut loss. Likewise, for both OUB(cost 10.30) n DBS(8.00), last few days released them together with SPH. Also reduced weight on BS n SPC.

Diff trader hv their own trading stretegy, they some learned fr others n d others self experiences.

Market driven loh, even defensive counters also not spared. AK had cleared it at 2.70, with losses.

FY07 07/19 = 26 cts.

FY 08 08/19 = 27 cts.

Now, need to wait until mid Mar ds yr for d 1H div loh.

Unfortunately, it just hits AK cut loss pt. Had q to unload, still qing.

Above no call for anything, just AK stretegy, esp at current volatile market sentiment. Some previous methods can't be used again liao. Cheers.
