epliew,
Just treat this forum as a market place. Ignore the noise and absorb those that give constructive views. Then use your judgement and trade wisely. Never love your stock and cut if need be. Good luck.

hi all,
i think the purpose of the forum is help to encourage one another to make more profit and not to create fear about this stock or that. I dare to say some people are adding fear for personal reasons..... so they could re-enter market or buy more......
I know the decision to trade in stock market, the purpose is making money. Money is not everything, so lose some money will not die, I strongly believe we should encourage one another instead making assumption with technical analysis. What i do like to see is people killing themselve after making some losses. better advice is trade within your limits.....
For those who believe the stock will be 1.7 tomorrow please show me your charts and explanation?
I wish all singaporean prosper with genting.
That's why playing shares is dangerous..
Many have already 'dieded' because of playing shares and betting..
I am quite sure that if they are given another chance to come back to this world,
they will almost certainly not be playing shares..
Of course, if it's for entertainmant purposes,
or if the person has highly skilled defensiveness, it is a different story..
But the bottom line is to have humble respect for the stock market beast..

Fear of LO$$ is the ultimate protection against loss.
Fear of not making enough money is the cause of most losses..
But if one treats every bet as a gamble, one should be okay..

yup. i think sentosa is more for sightseeing and family kind of place because of the studio. but i will accumulate at the right price im comfortable with because when they start to give out dividends next time, it wont be this price anymore.
sentosa is an tourist island/attraction. unless no ones visits that island, then genting is a worthless stock. ghost month over liao. superstitious gamblers will start going to "work".
i'm more of long term so therefore even though it corrects, i still have the holding power. short term the life too stressful liao.. can't take it..

If one must need faith,
it is best to have faith in the chart..
rather than divine blessing..
Because for what you know,
the divine one may not want you to play shares..

(From THE WALL STREET JOURNAL) By John Jannarone
[Financial Analysis and Commentary]
Leaving Las Vegas usually pays off.
That's even true of casino giant Las Vegas Sands, which apparently decided to diversify away from the Strip just in time. In 2006, when Vegas was booming, Sands won rights to build a multibillion-dollar casino in Singapore, where gambling was previously forbidden. Not long after, investors began to panic over Sands' leverage, and exposure to Vegas, at one point sending its shares down 99% from their 2007 peak.
But the gamble on the equator has begun to pay off. Sands shares have more than doubled this year, with much of the gain coming since the Singapore casino opened in April. Based on July's figures, the Marina Bay Sands casino is earning an annualized $1 billion of earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization. That has helped boost consensus 2011 Ebitda estimates for the whole company to $2.4 billion, from $1.7 billion a year ago.
The house odds in Singapore are tough to beat. Sands and Genting Singapore each have exclusive rights to operate a casino on the island for ten years without competition. The two casinos are on track to be the world's most profitable next year. This success reflects more than novelty value. History shows gamblers in the region tend to stick to their habits, through thick and thin. Genting Malaysia has seen gambling revenue at its Malaysia operations rise between 2004 and 2009 at a 15% annualized rate.
Singapore has other advantages. The country has spent decades developing travel, business and tourist infrastructure. It is likely no coincidence that Singapore attracts gamblers from places like China, even though the gambling Mecca of Macau is much closer. Chinese visitors rose 63% in July from a year earlier, says Singapore's tourism board.
One risk is the Singapore government introduces rules that stifle the casino business. The government is keen to limit crime rates and gambling addiction among its citizens. But so far, government has targeted restrictions at low-income locals, which only account for a few percentage points of gambling revenue. Even tighter restrictions likely wouldn't be a catastrophe.
The greater risk is a sharp economic slowdown that crimps regional tourism. But Sands deserves extra points for its Singapore diversification, which may account for half its profit next year. Rivals Wynn Resorts and MGM Resorts International have made progress in Macau, where competition is fierce. J.P. Morgan's Joseph Greff estimates Sands has an enterprise value of 13.9 times 2011 Ebitda, compared with 11.1 times for Wynn and 12.5 times for MGM.
While it's tempting to choose the cheaper stock, Sands' growth potential is worth the extra chips.
