Merc and BMW could price their car double or triple that of ordinary car NOT just because of branding... if you have driven these cars, you will know why they are commanding the price they are commanding. Years of R&D and constantly driving to be at the forthfront of luxury car segment and their superior automobile technology by these 2 companies should get their credit. When you own one of these cars, you feel very proud. However, same cannot be said of an OSIM message chair, for instance. You will just say, I have a message chair.

There is another dimension to to LV and Gucci handbags, besides branding. That's scarcity. They don't mass produced.

hi Singaporegal & Manikamaniko,

yes,  people are willing to pay more for Breadtalk and Chatterbox, not just because singaporeans are food lover, the same applies to other products.

Look at Berz and BMW, their price are double if not triple of oridinary car and they are selling very well, look at LV or Gucci handbags which prices are many time the normal handbag, take a talk along Orchard road and you will know what i mean.

i think the key word is "Branded", if OSIM can make itself branded, it may not need to compete with its competitors head to head.

that's about 4.2 -4.8 millions dollars sell down.. calculating based on price of 0.87-0.90 sell down.

if not mistaken, this capital group only give a target price of 0.55, correct me if I am wrong.

Hi Erickoh888... :)

It appears they are selling 'designer bread'... :)

Maybe you can try selling your own "rojak heyko" in, say, Goodwood Hotel"...

Then, judging by people's penchant for anything 'premium', the crowds will surely rush in... Smiley

Hi erickoh888,

Haha... I like your analogies. I personally think Singaporeans are more particular when it comes to food so they make a distinction and are willing to pay $$ for what they percieve as better quality. Smiley

Middle East is a good market. Maybe they'll kill each other over massage chairs and increase sales. One thing is for certain though, you won't have an American competitor there.

At least Ron is doing something about it unlike the other Sim.

so many shops selling bread, why Breadtalk's bread not cheap but still selling so well?

everywhere got stalls selling chicken rice, why Mandarin Hotel chichen rice so expensive but still selling so well ?

i hope the answer is the same for OSIM.

good news that Osim is expanding into other regions. But one pressing question is how long can they sustain their lead in these places before their competitors come knocking on the door too?

ya....not only OTO growing strong, still go other like ogawa, etc etc, and in Asia big player like Omron, Panasonic, all venture a bit on heatlh/lifestyle product.........but i'm thinking if global economic outlook is good for next couple of years, quality of life should improve, and ppl more willing to spend on buying health / relaxation lifestyle home products.......but not sure if Osim can get the big pie.

personally if it drops to 0.70, I will take it as a trading buy... not longterm buy. Long term outlook is rather bleak.. with OTO, etc an increasing no. of other brands fighting in the same market. Tough, tough. Bridgestone is also another loser. It typically contributes only in the qtr with US thanksgiving and x'mas season.

The OSIM will release its financial statement for Second Quater on July 25th. I doubt its result will be better than last second quater, but may be just slightly better than the first quater. I also respect Mr. Sim to try to save this stock. I suspect he tried to raise to a psychological support level around 0.95-1.0. With the financial report comes out, it will drop to a support level around 0.70.

Guys, that's just my own opinion. I wish I was wrong.
