Genting is moving according to script so far....remember Market is always Right!!!! however, we want to emphasize that Genting is a trading stock (more speculative) not a long term investing stock....not for lots of people here esp. the uncles and aunties...good luck :)

They are at both buy and sell queues. They will monitor people's action before deciding on the next direction. As you can see, it's pretty range bound for now. Those retail day traders who ate at 1.27 just now may get constipated for a while unless BBMM decided to cook some more later on.

Genting S’pore off 0.8%; Eyes on 2Q10 results

Genting Singapore (G13.SG) off 0.8% at $1.25, pausing for breather after run-up in early trade to six-month high of $1.27, according to Dow Jones.

Shares up for last 4 sessions, +7.7% since beginning July, on broad market gains, optimism over recent move to sell money-losing UK operations to focus on Resorts World Sentosa.

Next catalyst could be 2Q10 results, due next month, as performance will reflect full quarter of contributions from RWS, which opened in February.

Deutsche Bank, which has Buy call with $1.45 target, tips EBITDA of $314 million (+151% on quarter); “Genting Singapore’s 2Q results should confirm our expectation of a significant 50%-60% quarter-on-quarter growth in Singapore’s gaming market size.”

Current volume mere fraction of yesterday’s 172.4 million shares, suggesting underlying demand intact.

Support at 10-day moving average, last at $1.21.

2. Singapore

Now turn your attention to Singapore. Finance officials of the island nation announced last week that their economy had expanded at a record 18.1% in the first half of the year--stark evidence that South Asia has managed to shrug off Europe's sovereign debt crisis and the muddle in the U.S. economy.

Singapore's gross domestic product expanded at a 26% annual pace in the second quarter from the previous three months. Growth in the first half was the fastest pace since records began in 1975, prompting the government to predict GDP will rise as much as 15% in 2010.

Two casinos run by Genting and Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) opened in February and April this year. The casinos include your standard slot machines, baccarat tables and roulette wheels, but probably the most impressive is an amazing Skypark atop one of its massive hotel towers, which includes an infinity pool 40 stories above the city.

Researchers at Capital Economics say that manufacturing has led Singapore's growth after leaders took advantage of low construction and materials costs during the 2008 slump to double capacity in the pharmaceuticals and electronics industries. Construction output is also being lifted by new residential and commercial projects on the edges of the island. Of course, the pace of expansion will inevitably drop back in the second half of 2010 to a more sustainable pace in the low single digits, but even that will be remarkable. No wonder Singapore owns that world's third-largest sovereign wealth fund, and has been reportedly picking up prize properties in countries like the United States where prices are still soft.

Pakistan plane crashes with 152 on board

ISLAMABAD (AFP) - – A Pakistani private Airblue plane crashed into hills behind Islamabad on Wednesday while preparing to land after a flight from Karachi with 152 people on board, a civil aviation spokesman said.

There was no immediate casualty report.

Airblue flight 202 took off from Karachi, Pakistan's biggest city and financial capital at 7:45 am (0245 GMT) and had been preparing to land in Islamabad when it crashed, Pervez George told AFP by telephone.

"There were 146 passengers and six crew on board," he said.

"When it was preparing to land, it crashed in the Margalla Hills."

Thick smoke could be seen rising from an inaccessible region in the densely wooded hills, where helicopters circled overheaded and rescue services dispatched ambulances to the nearest roads, an AFP correspondent said.
