Glad to hear that StarHub is upgraded from hold to buy.

With the highest dividends payout in the Asia Telecoms, share price of $2.50 is easily achievable.

Happy investing!

DBS Group Research, 23 Sept 2009:

Buy laggard for positive surprise

• StarHub’s FY10F-11F earnings would be raised 4%-6%, in
the case of joint bidding for English Premier League (EPL) or
content re-selling arrangement if joint bid is not possible.
• Assuming 50% probability of non-escalation of content cost,
our TP is raised to S$2.50. With EPL bid submission on 29th
Sep, StarHub could benefit from relief rally once results are
out, with or without joint bidding.
• StarHub has underperformed STI by 18%, since our
downgrade on 27th May. Upgrade to BUY for 13% upside
and 8% yield.

Stock price does not reflect the possibility of StarHub-
SingTel preventing cost escalation StarHub is trading at our
12x rock-bottom FY11F earnings, when full impact of EPL costs
kicks in, assuming that StarHub pays S$100m higher than 2006
EPL bid price. However, the stock price does not reflect the
possibility of StarHub teaming up with SingTel or StarHub reselling
the content to SingTel, if joint bid is not possible. Given
that both consumers and corporate are victims of content cost
escalation and SingTel is an ROI driven company, content reselling
could be a likely solution. This could raise FY10F-11F
earnings by 4%-6%. Our target price for StarHub, with and
without cost escalation is S$2.40 and 2.60 respectively. This is
based on FY10F PER of 13x and 13.5x respectively, at 15% and
10% discount to its average historical PER of 15x. Assuming a
50% probability of content sharing, our revised target price is
S$2.50, implying 16% upside with 8% yield.

Corporate data growth to accelerate ahead. StarHub’s 2008
corporate data revenue stood at S$245m, which is less than
quarter of SingTel’s S$1100m data revenue. Investors should take
note that StarHub’s network access would increase from 800
buildings to over 20K buildings in the next 2-3 years through the
National Broadband Network. With COO, Mr. Tan Tong Hai
(credited with turning around Singapore Computer Systems)
taking care of the corporate data business, FY09F-11F 6-7%
EBITDA CAGR for the fixed network segment should be easily
achievable.

Good to merge or , this 2 companies hard to compete with Singtel.

Anyway, both M1 and StarHub are owned by Temasek, so, 'Temasek effect'.

Yes, time to accumulate before it touches $2.80.

Little downside and very good dividends.
