Will have to leave to SGX investigation if indeed there has been any wrong doing. Assuming that 2 persons collaborated or one having control over 2 trading accounts. Account 1 short sell 27m and the Account 2 also short sell 27m and Account 2 turned out to be the buyer of Account 1 short sell while Account 1 then turn around to become the buyer of Account 2 short sell. In this case, total volume traded will remain as 54m and equivalent to the total short sell (27m+27m). Of course this is an extreme example. On the other extreme, if only one party short sell and assuming no act of collaboration and he has to cover back with same account intraday, them the total volume traded for the day must be at least double of what he short sell since he has to buy back with separate trade. Whatever, the unreasonably high short sell is suspicious and worth investigating.

Since SGX has responded to my email that they will look into the matter I've raised, let's hope they will act fairly and swiftly if indeed any irregularities arised or execute the necessary according to SGX rules including enforcing SGX Buy-In or penalize for any false information.

But most of it will probably come from the tens of millions of stock transacted in the last 5 min and the closing match. Probably didn't have time to cover.

54 million shorted scripts today. Another incompatible number with today's volume.
SGX has responded to my email that they will investigate on any potential irregularities with the heavy short selling lately as the daily short sell volumes and total daily volumes some days did not add up even if the short sellers covered back intraday or borrowed from leading pools and yet hardly any SGX Buy-In. If they have the shares in their CDP account, then it was false information to indicate as short sell in the first place. They will not reveal any details of any investigation due to its sensitivity.
Hankore was propelled to 3rd highest volume traded today in the last 5 minutes.

Very exciting finish ! The buyers first withdrew almost the whole buy q only to grab the sellers built up 16,941 lots q at 4.9c in 1 go at 16:58:09 and then put up barely 3000 lots to buy at 4.9 such that there was even brief moment of closing at 4.8c only to grab all the 25,451 lots sellers q at 4.9c with excess of 7,516 lots still q at 4.9c to buy when market closed ! Of course cccx, you helped too :) If Hankore has any positive announcement this evening, tomorrow will be fireworks :)
wish you are right.catch those bitches.

Those massive shorts last week will have to pay at least 5.1 cents tmr, regardless of whether the price goes down tomorrow or sideways. If the price goes higher, they'll be squeezed even further. Teach them a lesson if they're really shorting..

Got my 4.9 cents... The operator wiped out the fake sell queue at the last milli-second. The poor shortist was caught with his pants down. Didn't even have time to withdraw his order before the closing match. Nice..
Joined in the party to force a 4.9 cents close :)
There should be a huge buy in tomorrow. They're probably trying to push the price down. Should be interesting..
Tug of war between buyers and short sellers with buyers putting up strong support by 'topping up' at 4.9 as short sellers created some scare with sell orders followed by the usual 1 lot tactic in quick succession. Not successful to scare off the buyers so far. Will be interesting to see how both sides will fight the closing.
Wierd movements..
There were 200 lots SGX Buy-In on 7 Aug at 5.1c. There should be more to come over the next few days.
