6cts dpu for ascott... good new for those that held on
dont sell to CapLand....see if they will up the offer.
Am going to hold on to Ascott. No way am I going to let them earn.
0206 GMT [Dow Jones] Ascott Group (A07.SG) down 0.6% at S$1.72 after reporting strong 4Q results; downside limited by CapitaLand''s (C31.SG) $1.73/share offer made earlier this month. CapitaLand currently owns 66.53% of Ascott, has made offer to buy out the rest. UBS analyst Regina Lim says formal offer document likely to be posted to shareholders soon, expects shareholders to accept offer. Lim said in note earlier this month, "we believe the offer is not unreasonable and is 20% above the 3-month volume weighted average price of S$1.44/share. Given the fragmented shareholding and volatile market outlook, we think the probability of investors rejecting the bid and a higher offer is low." Ascott shares likely to continue to trade close to the offer price.
I have not decided to sell it to CapitaLand or not after hearing the strong 4Q results.

Dividend 6 cts per share is consider very good.
Hmm...... if sell it to CapitaLand, they will have a discount of 6 cts which is 1.73-0.06=1.67.....
Not fair for we retail shareholders eh?
Any comments out there? Are you guys selling it to CapitaLand?
FY 2007 results are out.
Div 6 ct per share.....but CapitaLd offer of 1.73 includes all rights to dividents. i.e if you accept the offer, you will only receive 1.73 and no divident.

Bingo!!!!
wow...so her job is delisting all the CapLand's subsidiaries
Jenny Chua? is she on Ascott now?
Raffles Holdings.
which one? RH or Capland?
And remember who is the CEO then???Hehehe......
Remember Raffles Holding.....CapLand also delisted it.
so far I have few experience with this type of bought over by another company......little chance of fighting the big guy...it will be delisted.
I agree with shplayer, maybe a dividend is anticipated by the insiders, Don't forget Capitaland owns about 65%, they are also entitle to dividends too, so why not reward the loyal Ascott shareholders.
Y sell to Capland? I think holding it and not allowing them to delist this counter would be the best. Will then see how much this counter will go up still...
Make sense?
unless you need the cash urgently...else sell to CapLand
unless you can sell at a higher than 1.73 to cover your GST, brokage fee, etc and still make a small profit..then it's ok to sell in the open market...else sell to CapLand directly
That is okay as these people are still able to sell to CapitaLand........
but there are more and more and more are buying at 1.72 (49,563 queuing)
