DBS seems to be hovering just above its 200MA. Let hopes it don't fall below.

Once Falling below 200MA, things going to get even more uglier.

 

 

Lower low, lower high. 

According to my chart, it will hit the 78.6% retracement line (APR2009 - Todate) - $13.15  and we  may see a possible upward retracement or should I say reaction (haha) BEFORE or AFTER this line.  If it still falls like knife, we are looking at the major support line of 11.50 - 11.75.

 

When it starts to range between two prices (support and resistance) for X period of days/weeks/months, you may consider it as consolidation.  Consolidation is  also known as  a period of indecision. Prior to the price break out be it UP or DOWN, you will see increase an in trading volume compared to the ranged period.

Let it come down a bit to average down. Many financial stocks in US are coming down, so we have to watch carefully.

feel selling not over yet. 9bil is hell alot of $. Felt yesterday's and today's volume/value   not yet fully reflecting the impact.best thing is dont do anything.

 

 

 

Daraemon is xiao ding dang.. buying danamon is more like xiao ding dong.. dun care what they say... no material impact for such a large purchase n ROE still intact... $13 looks nice to try... lol

Once its done lowering, there is the consolidation phase. Thats when you can decide. 

Are you hoping for a spike up tmr?

 

Can buy at $13.50 or is this a falling knife?

 

It may go down to $13.40. Breaking down $13.40 may be $13.00.. I think can consider to go long when it is around $13.00

Singapore's DBS shares fall after bid for Bank Danamon

SINGAPORE - Shares of DBS Group Holdings Ltd fell nearly 4 per cent to a seven-week low on Tuesday, a day after announcing a plan to buy Bank Danamon Indonesia for US$7.2 billion.

Southeast Asia's largest bank, part-owned by Singapore's sovereign investment arm Temasek Holdings Pte Ltd, said on Monday that it had agreed to take over Danamon in a cash-and-share transaction that would rank as Asia's fourth-biggest banking deal.

The price - S$6.2 billion (US$4.93 billion) in shares for Temasek and the rest in cash for minority investors - initially surprised some investors, with the offering at 7,000 rupiah (US$0.77) per Danamon share, which last traded at 4,600 rupiah.

But analysts said the deal would be positive for DBS in the longer term, as Danamon would significantly expand its footprint in Indonesia, Southeast Asia's largest economy, which recently regained investment grade status from ratings agencies.

'The acquisition will diversify DBS' earnings base, and DBS expects to add significant value to Danamon in respect of funding franchise, corporate lending and consumer proposition - hence we are positive,' brokerage OSK DMG said in a report.

By 0145 GMT, DBS shares were down 2.6 per cent at S$13.81, with more than 5.3 million shares changing hands, recovering from an intraday low of S$13.63.

'The share-and-cash structure works as it keeps EPS (earnings per share) dilution and capital strain palatable,'said CIMB in a report.

The broker also said the merger would bring long-term synergies, but in the short term, DBS may see a lower return on equity. However, it maintains its outperform rating and target price of S$15.10. -- REUTERS

 

 

Last Month, Sem Maritime sold by TEM(or GIC). It droip to $4.8+ then bounced back to 5.3+.

  I dared not buy and miss the opportunity......  'cos think too much.

My DBS is very poor performing.  Don't mind it goes lower to 12.60 then I will average some.
