Semb Marine results just released was ok, up. Outlook on Oil and Gas sector is still good. I think ex-d, confirm drop around 10cts but will recover in a few weeks, probably after div payment date
hmm, just read up a bit more and realise that the financial results release for venture wasnt that good and it coincide near with XD period.. maybe that explains the big drop..

anyway, i got a feeling it will drop to 36 cents or below when it XD lol.. the dividend news was release on late feb, and although the price was around 42 cents when news was released, during early feb, the stock chiong from around 37 cents to 42 cents just before dividend news, making me wonder if some ppl have insider news to the dividend.. if so, these group of ppl will be making profit selling at 27cents and above lol..
Come across venture, and the dividend news of around 7% was released on early march when it was 8.40+.. now after XD it is now at 7.20.. but during late jan, there was a sudden surge from around 7.90 to around 8.40, which was before dividend news.. if we calculate the drop from 7.90 to 7.20, that was eerily near 7% dividend.. makes me wonder if this group of ppl have insider information.. hope the same thing doesnt happen to baker tech.. and espcially this is the period of sell in may, it's even more depressing lol
just vested, a bit regret, but bought little to play play and see if i was lucky the 10cents dividend pay out wont be less than the fall lol..

yes, you will be entitled to the 10cent dividend. In fact, you can just contra without making any payment.

Hi Senior bros out there, if i buy the stocks on 6/6 & made full payment on same day but sell on XD which is 7/6, will i still be entire dividents? Hope someone can give good advice, thanks.

There could be a potential delisting of Discovery Offshore(DISC) in which BTL owns 20% if based on the news that Asia Offshore Drilling is going to be delisted by 31 May 2013. This is probably easier because Seadrill owns > 66% of AOD and after delivery of 2 jackup rigs + 1 more in Jul 2013 - having secured charter contracts with Saudi Aramco for 3 years - they decided to delist. It seems that they dont want to share the big pie with other investors as ROI of these rigs is less than 3 years and lifespan is~20 years (cash cows for the next 17 years or more..)
Let's hope that very soon DISC announce its secured" very lucrative " contracts when its 2 high spec rigs will be delivered by 7Jun13 and 7 Oct 13 and better still delist from Oslo Axess(stock exchange). BTW AOD was listed about 2 months later(July 2011) than DISC (in May 2011).
Would u still consider to throw after xd? Any comments?

I think you the worst case scenario wld be trading ard 32-33c when XD with possibility of trending lower with current market sentiment.
At best, trading ard 36.5c with high possibility of trending lower thereafter.
Just my take.
It is logical to take the price of 42 cts as the price before market discount the dividend because that was the price when the announcement was made. But some insiders must have bought earlier too so it is bit complicated.
I would be happy already if price trade around 40cts ex-d to allow for the insiders selling out.
the problem is we do not know if the market has already factor in 10cents dividend even before the dividend announcement.. maybe some insiders know that they giving out high dividend, and may have bought it long ago at 30+ cents.. it's kinda weird for ppl not to get tempted and push the price up (though after announcement it did went up near 50cents before falling back).. i wonder if ppl really did not see this attractive dividend at this stage in time close to dividend books of closure, or they had already factored it in long ago..

Price of this counyer one day before the 10 cents dividend announcement (ie 22/2) was 0.425. How much will it go before EX ???

Seems like the price is around 0.435. And will stay till XD. Hope you are right bro!. All Huat for this counter :)
At this price with current strong market trends, not easy for this to drop 0.10 cents. Even up or down of 0.01/2 also take one week to happen. Take it right and dont miss the boat.

Hope will not dip a lot after XD. If no rebound think got to keep for a long time. Think most important is not to be a forgetten stock after XD. Will be very painful if no volume/trades.
