	Hopefully those players bot last few days, have very good profit, my tot think a lot will goes on profit taking when it open for trading. Who does like to profit take selling on good news w/o having to come out any money or pay a single cent....

 

I see it as an opportunities to take profit selling on good news at it peak of selling to others at 18c to18.5c. Monday is still in d mode of profit taking as B4 px halted at 14.5c

Profit taking is simply selling one of shares/stocks at a profit. The opposite will therefore be called covering losses. The verbs "taking" and "covering" may seemed rather odd but thats the trading lingo thus if you decide to call in in your own words such as "holding" as opposed to "taking" or "minimising losses" as opposed to "covering losses" - its fine as long as you understand whats they are referring to.

Just a point.

 

 

cwbenz, take profit means to sell @ an overheated play at the stock. Meanwhile, with the gained funds, go reinvest in other overlooked/cheap stock. come back later when everyone else is not looking and bang! Of course, to determine what price to sell/re-enter is really subjective and really counts on your experience.

 

All the experienced investors out here, pls help clear my doubts..thks...

When u say profit taking, what it all means? I bought ABC at 20c, sell them at 25c (u call it take profit, right?). Then u buy them when it runs again and this time at 30c and sell at 35c. How can the first profit be called profit when u ploughed them back again at higher price? only the broking house is profitting isnt it? Blurr liao...

The investment holding company which has operations in salt mining and distribution, as well as manufacturing electronic equipment, is buying an organic fertiliser company in China for $64m.

FirstLink Investments will buy China Plant Nutrition Holdings in 2 phases; initially taking a 25% share in the China company for $16m, with the later option of buying the remaining 75% for $48m, all subject to regulatory approval. China Plant Nutrition is engaged in research, and production and sale of green organic compound fertiliser, as well as developing environmental protection technology.

The initial $16m investment will be paid for by the issue of 74m new shares at $0.14 per share, plus $5.6m in cash. This phase is expected to be completed by Feb. Post-acquisition, the enlarged share capital of FirstLink will be 480m shares.

 

yar associate, be fair to happyday. @ least there is really news out and he is willing to share with us. its ur choice really if u decide to rally with him.what is the phrase again? cavear emptor?

 

Associate, You might have your point. But in stock market rumor come first and everyone start buying. II dun thing anyone know whats the new about. So the rule is "Buy on rumor and sell on news". And who knows what will happen next to firstlink. Mayby BB start to buy on Monday. So judge yourself and stay cool....

 

To people still waiting for a reply from happyday. Forget about opinions from him. I seriously doubt he knows anything more than we do regarding firstlink.

1. Thread title started as turning salt into gold and but announcements had nothing to do with the salt business all in all.

2. He misleaded forumers with some information to be released two weeks ago which appeared to be a coax. End of the day, news were releeased much later and did not add any value to the last traded price before the trading was halted.

No doubt some players benefitted from his so call insider news but looking back, everything seems more like a bull imo. No offence to my two cents worth.

 

Announcement out, price has been factored in. So no opportunity to me....

It look like 0.165 is the resting point n 0.17 is the resistance. let hope monday will break through 0.17 n 0.175. This is what i think. any comment guys??

 

I dunno if small stock is affected or not but today most Asia stock market all red color and China red color very red. I dunno if the effect will flow down to SGX small stocks or not. Trade with care next week onwards :)

Yep!! happy selling away alot in SJ and telling ppl's what to buy and sell or hold, this is a mkt that buy/sell or hold faster that everyone can discipate info...might as well make a kill in STAR*Curises. Just having installed a rocket booster...
