Been looking at FJ for a while now ever since Victorian started providing active reviews actually. The price action doesn't make hearts skip a beat ... but reading the company's report it appears that Warren Buffet would simply love it! :) Does anyone know if this is the first time that FJ is declaring interim dividends in 1Q?

Food Junction 1Q results are out.  Slight drop in profitability but some more dividend - 1 cent per share normal and 0.5 cent per share special.
Looking good.

Hey Vic, good of you. Last done 0.61cts.  Fri. night the NYSE dropped 20+ pts.  Will have some ripple effects on the STI Monday.  I missed out an opportunity at 0.605 on Fri around noon.  See what happens on Mon.  I wonder if the big guns like Kay Hian or  KE have long term interest in the stock.  Whats your take if they decide to pull out after taking their booty?

Hi Victorian,

I am puzzled. From the 2 cents dividends declared, its only an average of 3.17% based on average share price of 63 cents. I still remembered i read from this forum that FJ dividends is aound 6-8% ...

So basically, i do not c FJ as a dividend play, rather as a long term investment due to biz funadamentals. Can u comments on my comments ?

Thanks.

Say Vic, there is also some reports about Mochtar Riardy (dun know how true it is) being investigated by the American authorities during the Bill Clinton era.  I dun suppose it makes much difference to the value of investments he has in FJ.  So long as his interests here is above board.

Hi Vic, copied this from the internet. Cannot confirm if this is accurate.

The Lippo Group is a giant conglomerate based in Jakarta, Indonesia, with interests in banking, finance and other enterprises. Its flagship, Lippo Ltd., listed $3.6 billion in assets in 1995. The firm owns only one small bank(Lippo bank) in the United States(California) but has extensive interests in Indonesia, Hong Kong and China. It was founded by Mochtar Riardy, an ethnic Chinese born in Indonesia. Presently, the group must be worth alot more.

Accordingly, the group has favoured status in China as their presence there apparently boost the local economies.

I've held this stock 3 to 4 years back..remember it was 59 then, and only managed to throw it out with a measly gain..if u r looking for dividend yield with stable earnings and limited downside in stock px, this is a typical stock, but not when u want to earn short-term $$..
