Will  fold just a matter of time if the management continue its status quo. SWH has no more idea and fire. Sell the company, return the monies back to shareholders is the best strategy.

 

1QFY14 net loss increased to US$5.5m from US$4.5m in 1QFY12, while revenue declined 15% y/y to US$30.4m due to the uncertain and difficult market conditions. Gross margin increased 5ppts to 28% on the back of a change in sales mix towards higher margin newer products. Group recorded lower R& D expenses (-16%) due to the divestment of its subsidiary, ZiiLABS Limited, in 2QFY13. Creative expects no major improvements on the challenging market going forward, although sales are expected to be higher q/q on the back of the holiday season, which may result in an improvement in operations.

Whatever  product it come up with, MARKETING  is  not in Mr. Sim's  vocabulary. That's why even if  he come up with the best and one and only good product it will  be just a beep. If he partner with someone then it will make a great diference.

Hard to say, this might be  difference. Who knows. Wait and see lah....

How much anyone understand abt Tizen ? They have the Zii chipset, and all mobile relay on Andriod. Samsung and intel plan to use Tizen, and heard Creative is moving into Tizen soon. Good news.

 

Oic, thanks for enlighten. Yes, if you refer to this, I think it is from their sell of bldg previously. But I really do not know what is Mr.Sim doing or waiting. I heard a lot of tech company interest in buying their patent, but they rejected. Only recently sold the whole 3D Lab patent to intel, include the whole department.

I found some interesting article that intel intend to further use Zii chip for the new motion  detection  device lately, but not confirm. Just read in some tech forum. Do not know it is true. But know that Creative and intel is very close recently. Hope this is a good sign. Good Luck.

And u mentioned the US$100m, are u refer to Apple compensate them to settle out of court deal for IP patent copyright.

Bro, they use the money to burn and R& D the Zii Lab stemcell Zii 8, 10, 20, 40 chip. All this is branch out from 3DLab research. If you still believe the US$100m still there, I think day dream. They burnt off liao. They sold their bldg and lease back the office by unit and floors not the whole Bldg (i heard). This all say until very nice, re-structure or cut-cost.

After burnt a whole on this Zii chip, now they throw the R& D 3DLab to intel is a good move, only Big MNC like intel got muscle and means to pay the R& D team in UK to continue to burnt the hole. Do some research la, the US$100m is donkey news already. Really worry for those invested blindly and read the AGM report. If you didn't attend the AGM, but pls at least read or google to update the news. Some sometime to read.

I have 1 set and using. Overall the device is ok, BUT BUT BUT only can access and use Creative learning Chinese. It can also use to surf and chk email and access wifi network, no 3G and 4G.

The most part did not meet user expectation is the device cannot access  Android  marketplace now Google Play. Thus cannot buy games to play lor. The price is not cheap for a 8 or 16GB set. I buy to test it at S$568 or $5x8, cannot remember the price exact and the GB size. Can't be bother, my children find boring, put it a side. They use iPad.

As for China, I surf internet, heard they are trying to push this device as an Electronic school bag, but come on, be realistic, put it at S$550, how much in China Yuan (Remingbi). The exchange currency, you calculate yourself, then bloody expensive. China got tons of tablet by other brand. This product is good from Creative uses the Zii-40 chipset, but too expensive. That is my own judgement.

The only thing this company still worth some $$ is their patent. I hope they can still more since last round sold 3Dlab to intel at US$50 million. Sell more IP asset. Good Luck.
