You have my empathy.

I suffered Total Loss in CLOB if any remember.

You must sharpen your sense of risk.  You must understand : How much is enough ? and What money can buy ?

For example : 20000 Singapore Dollar.  Is this a lot of money ?  What can it buy you ?

If your utilities bill is $200 per month.  Then 20000 can pay 100months of bills or 8.3333 years !!!

But if you are thinking that 20000 is nothing, because it cannot buy you a lexus (anyway lexus kills...heee) or a condo.  Then you will naturally take the loss of 20000 lightly.

If you can loss 20K, why not 40K or even 60K and so forth.... (See..... the difference in wording 20K is not the same as 20000 hor)

If you loss money in the stock market, recover your money from the stock market.

Not by other income means......deduce from salary ??....my god..... 2K you need 30months to recover.

Just my thought to share lor....

BTW sold all my NOL again today......6cts profit, the risk is simply too high.....Who knows tomorrow 1.80..ouch  2.00.....Nevermind....I will find a nice entry price and comfort zone to fight....again

HUAT AH!!!

At this moment in time the DOW is green and LVS counter is reacting inversely, down by 0.55 cents. Hope to buy another 5 lots again or perhaps more if drops more than US1.50 and then letting go before expiry date when it exceeds my TP of  US1.50. Trying to recover the outstanding US14 000 that I lost before CNY and I think I can't and don't have to wait for Marina Sand to open as I'm already at it's main entity.

i think during the correction, whatever study also no use..overall market is down. those nt affected are stocks which are already "died",,no one take notice and not active for the past few years. those affected stocks are the "active" stocks. They can be announcing big profits, impressive financial datas. When ppl are panic, they wil start to sell.

the best way of not losing is when you have the cash to hold.

I had incurred heavy damage too. This dip had cost me my entire savings. I went into 3 sicko stocks call Hoe Leong, Sino Grandnes and Otto Marine. I lost about $20k, had to borrow from some close relatives. Need to zip up my wallet and watch my spendings now. Even cannot join friends for activities, I think gonna lose them soon...cos they dun know why I had suddenly become so stingy. ha..

But I still hold <10 lots of Capitaland for long term. I calculated that i need Capitaland to be $6.72 before I can breakeven all these losses. haha....when will this day come? It'll be crazy.

tats the reason i always believe u play with stocks with money you can afford to lose. Never ever buy stocks with money you will need in immediate term or near future.. n never ever ever borrow.. though i know of some who does borrow when market is very very down and earn big bucks when market went up.. beating the interest from the loan that they took.. im happy for them.. hehe..

So serious meh this time correction? Then i must say I am very lucky liao, still can take some profit. Sold all my stock  2 or 3 day after share plunge. Now reenter with 1/4 of my capital. Now test test water, see can reenter with more or not, no confident at this moment.

Well what you say could be true but if you look on the other side there are still billions more of stimulus bailout money still cirulating in the market for grabs. It is undeniable that the financial instituitions, home mortgages and the auto industry in the US have taken a big chunk out of it have left less of it but still if you dare to speculate and not vested long term there is a possiblity to reap some gains.

Try to beat US stock while it needs cash desperately. Ha. ha.. ha... no way!!! Frankly, just simply avoid.......... at least for the next five to six years!!!

HateBear      ( Date: 02-Feb-2010 17:57) Posted:

The market is very turbulent this past few days. I tried to recuperate the US20k that I recently lost and some how managed to redeem 1/3 of the amount by speculating 5 lots on LVS counter where it peak at US17.11 churning out a modest gain of US1.61 yesterday. Hopefully it will go down again to below US15.50 where I have an intention of buying into it and then short sell again. Desperate moves but I have no choice as CNY approaching and need to offset some losses and earn some profit if permissible.
