Yes that is correct. You can sell your shares within T+3 days using your cash up front option (until you can see the shares in your cash up frong holdings). On the settlement day your shares will be moved to your CDP account. So after that you have to use your cash account or call your broker to sell those shares. I too faced the same kind of situation.

i just called up the vickers hotline, the CSO said that i have to use the "cash" account instead of the "cash upfront" account to sell my shares, and that i wont be able to see the shares in my holdings anymore because they are in the CDP account already, is that true? i hope i wont be counted as doing a naked short sell order..

yeah, i've paid up already, bought the shares using cash upfront option. so i'm not sure why the shares are removed from my holdings..

Have you pay up for the shares? Are you doing a contra? 6 days later, assuming T+5 you may not be allow to contra  Best to call you assigned remisier to check. This could be a internal system. If you have a online acc. I see no reason why you cannot queue yourself to sell. You must have open your acc. thru a dealer.

i just received a letter from CDP yesterday, showing that i've bought the shares already, so does it mean that if i want to sell, i have to go through a broker instead of doing it online?

It should go to your CDP account already. Any "holdings" within Vickers are temporary. Check your CDP account if you cannot find it in your securities account.
