It's my 3rd time going too, it's free, so why not? haha =p
yes the last couple of times they had some real gurus.
This time it was all about selling courses and land.
Nothing much interesting..sad case.
I wonder if they'll ever call Alexander Elder or Van Tharp here, would be nice. =)
I'd gladly pay the $50 if they came to speak!

I did glean one insight from Kathy Lien tho. It's about news trading.
Personally I never delved much into news trading before. Except maybe fading the initial news spike on occasion for a few quick pips.
So it's something new to me, don't know if you guyz have had experience with news trading before, feel free to comment.

She mentioned that some economic indicators had other closely related indicators which might have been released the prior week.
Usually the results would be similar.
Observed it today, pretty cool, worked like a charm.
But I was in earlier based on technicals.
Can check out the trade in my journal here.

This angle on news trading warrants more research. =)

Cheers,
Ferrowolf

for any  industry. .. .. time that you had scarificed to learn a new skill set and the money involved. infact

this is what i called opportunity cost... ..  the indifference of knowing new. things.

Hi Pikachu,

I don't know about Hondastream, but no, I am not a trainer there..not at the moment at least..haha
Maybe further in the future =)
But the trainer at Alpha Alliance Training(AAT) is a good friend of mine.
I met him when I was just starting out in trading, and he has certainly shared much of his TA knowledge with me without reservation.
Of course at that time he had not started his training school yet! haha
But seriously, he's a really good as an educator.
You know how some people can trade damn well, but don't have the patience or the capacity to transfer their skills? lol

Hi AK,
I went to the Investfair on Sunday afternoon for an hour or so..hmm..
Must say I was sorely disappointed with their goodie bag this year! haha
Ok, I was also disappointed with the turnout and whoever setup booths there..
I still recall a year where they had Ray Barrows there, that was at least more interesting. lol
This year the most interesting they had, to me, was Kathey Lien from GFT.
She's kindda cute and speaks with an american accent. lol
Just kidding.
I was actually interested in seeing what they had to offer for forex, like a better broker or perhaps someone who would be speaking about currency correlation or something..
Then they had the super hard-selling Indian dude, Kishore.
"Make super profits or dunno wad blah blah blah.."
Buay tahan. lol
The booths for alternative investments, like land overseas in Canada, was a pretty interesting concept.
But not likely something I'll get into for quite a long while..invest in my first Singapore property first then say! haha
So yepz, more or less a wasted trip for me.

Cheers,
Ferrowolf

I think It's a combination of both an art and a science.
Afterall, many aspects in TA are given significance based on the statistics of their observed results.
Without the scientific back up, it would be pretty hard to read the charts isn't it?
But then again, tea appreciation is classified as an Art.
However, scientifically, it's proven that adding hot water brings out the flavour and aroma of the tea leaves better than cold water.
So I guess it's up to your personal opinion here where to classify TA, until such a time that a general consensus is reached. =)

Of course, you are absolutely right to say without an edge, 'TA' is but a gamble.
That's why we can use TA to identify an edge and build our trading systems around it.

Hondastream, that link is still underconstruction.
Perhaps if you guys have facebook, check out a group called AAT Singapore.
You can contact them there as well, and find out more about the mentor and the courses they have available.
The mentor is a very experienced trader and the workshops are very affordable.
