Mermaid chalked in a strong FY13 performance which was above estimates, as full year net profit came in at US$15.7m (+389%) and revenue at US$269.6m (+47%), with bottom-line buoyed partly by a 45% drop in finance costs to $5.0m and a US$4.4m (FY12: -US$0.3m) contribution from associates.
Expecting good quarterly results on 27th after market hours.

Shares of Mermaid Maritime soared as much as 9.5 per cent to a six-month peak at S$0.41, ahead of release for earnings for fiscal year 2013 later this week. More than 9 million shares were traded, about 1.3 times its average 30-day full-day volume.

Any news on reason for the sudden spike... wonder if price went up for the benefit of employees exercising their options this week.

Haha, I sold too early also. In last week at 335 and out early morning at 37. What to do, still quite inexperienced to max profit when opportunity arises...

Foreign trust buy-in. Highest price for the year was 43 cents. Hope can inch past 40 cents.
Human nature ma. The stock is now in strong hands. High volume also. Looks like going to 40 cents.

$0.375 Now ! Sold too early.
Volume only 8k, less than the 10+k on the 2 and 3 Oct. Not sure how far it can run, but happy to take profit and $0.355 as there might also be some overhang from the placement at $0.28.
Back to $0.33 again, after falling to the low of $0.295 on Monday.
Wow, $0.35 now. An unbelievable run these 2 days, starting from $0.285.
Right now, Mermaid is at $0.33, the 200 days EMA.This morning it went as high as $0.34. Lets see whether it can hold until the end of the day.
