all I can say is...... it is easy to say by looking at the history... if you bought Cosco at 20 cents, and sold at 8 dollars.. I have nothing to say, .... :)
Property is for long term, at least 3-5 years... of course, if you are lucky, you can make within a year by flipping, this is not for everyone.

What you can potentially make in just 1 year in stock if the market moves in either direction and not stagnant, is equivalent to what your property apreciates in maybe 3-4 years if you buy the low end private. Capital appreciation is better for those properties above 1 million

You are right, I have property in my blood. It is because personally I think to be "fast-track" (short-cut) to be successful, and financial independant, you cannot run away from property, especially in Singapore such a gold mine.
I went to SMART Investment & International Property Expo last weekend at Suntec , http://www.smartexpos.com/smartexpo2009/SGMAR/free_pass.htm , there is a workshop, saying Singapore property appreciation is one of the highest in Asia region, however, rental yield , condo in Malaysia is the highest among the region, but the tax is relatively higher than other region. You will be amazed by how many Singaporen vested in Malaysia, especially, KL and Penang.
Of course, I also read this gentleman stock analysis book, http://www.ycchan.net/Bio.aspx , he is a stock expert, again, his first pail of Gold was from Singapore property, then, he uses the money to generate more and more through stock..
Again, for this young gentleman, age of 29 millionaire, first pail of Gold was from Singapore property at lakeside, summerdale condo, pocketed in S$145K by just holding the property in just 4 months. that was happened in year 2007, at that time he was age 27. http://www.bcgroup.com.sg/
The question now everybody is asking, how to buy property now if the price is rocket high, good question, my answer would be try all the means to squeeze, save , and eyes for 1, just 1, and huat ar when the cycle is up.... It would be very much less effort by monitoring stocks every single days, gluing to the monitor screen, to just earn few hundred dollars, after minus the contra gain, or contra loss, in a year, probably, you just can earn about $20K, u can laugh already.. I have to say, I monitor stocks everyday too. I am still learning too... still trying to aim for 1 condo at least.. that would be a good start.
folks, buy property, call james, LOL..

This is a good time to be in the propertt market. Prices are either midway to the bottom or already bottoming. So it really is easy to make the bucks.
Being not an agent, I will think to buy a little of reits and believe Ascendasreits is a good bargain now, but I have not played reits before so need some advice. Anyone? |

You have property in your blood and good you become an agent
jackjames ( Date: 03-Apr-2009 10:20) Posted:
there are many inactive agents , so in shorts, there are about 6000++ of active agents in Singapore.
not easy... but, good to know many interesting "facts" that you cannot even believe it..
I was playing with the "licensed software" in the real estate office and guess what, I can check every single detail of the owner, phone number, and exactly which unit you stay, either at HDB, Condo or landed. that is just crazy, how can government allow property agent to access those info? No privacy at all..
Now I can understand, why sometimes I received phone calls "out-of-no-where"..

Here I come, doing part time property agent under DTZ.... Officially, start on May 5, 2009.
I will be selling landed house, condo, and HDB, no commercial buildings....
Doing property analysis is part of my hobbies, and I love to invest in property too besides stocks, so, why not just become one property agent myself as a kick-off part time career.
although I am not as successful as him --> http://www.bcgroup.com.sg/ but, i am learning to be one too.
so, any genuine buyer or seller, kindly drop me a message at jamesjy_hong@yahoo.com I will provide the very best service as I could.
