In Today newspaper, Mukhriz (Mahathir's son) said that all Chinese and Tamil schools should be converted into one system of school where all subjects are to be taught in Bahasa Malaysia with Math & Sci in English and for the non-Malays to opt for their mother tongues. He is asking for trouble. Look at sri lanka, when they convert all schools with singhales as the main lang of instruction, the minority Tamil started to fight a civil war with them. Another reason is the Mukhriz is trying to show that he is an ultra to attract Malay votes in the coming UNMO Exco election. The UMNO top echelon always play the Malay supremacy sentiment to get voted. Look at Mahathir, Hisamuddin Onn and even Anwar in his earlier years. Mukhriz said that with one system of school, there will be unity. The other races will not buy his ideas. The two factors for unity are :  1) make sure all races are equal with no special rights for any particular race, and 2) use English as the main lang of instruction except their mother tongues. The 2nd point will obviously make Malaysia a more prosperous country.

It will be cheaper two three years down the road as global recession start eating deeper and deeper into it economy, the after effect can be felt into next year 2009 with it unresolve Thai Vs Thai political, so far the powerful Thai with power is powerless and have not make any effort to resolve with PAD or within the current staled govt, while holding the state in ransom with it utimate aim to bring down an elective govt. itll go down into history as one of the worst the Thai will have to stomch, look like it golden period has peak some way back B4 1997 financial crisis

Why i said so as it will badly damaged Bangkokrian rich or poor alike as Bangkok seek to built up it reputation as an economy hub, so short and mid term can see Bangkokrian struggle to recover after dust have settle and that will take them many years.

Facts...http://english.aljazeera.net/news/asia-pacific/2008/11/20081128102748586724.html

Group is a loose coalition of royalists, businessmen and urban middle class -Thailand's traditional elite. PAD led protests that triggered 2006 coup against the then PM, Thaksin Shinawatra. Supporters wear yellow shirts, a colour associated with Thailand's revered king. Group accuses Thaksin supporters of pushing to turn Thailand into a republic, an allegation rejected by Thaksin. Critics say PAD's contempt for results of three democratic elections show it is neither popular nor democratic.

The University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce said if the political turmoil and airport closures go on for another month, it would cost the economy up to $6 billion.

The protesters accuse Somchai of being a front for Thaksin Shinawatra, who was removed from office as prime minister in September 2006.

Somchai has accused the protesters of holding the country at ransom.

The protesters remained defiant on Friday, vowing to "fight to the death" if police tried to disperse them.
