current div yield of 6cent is about 4% (if you are comparing to fixed deposit) Yes. Long term ROE is good.. (plus one more maybe 2 cent later in the year) so current price is ok..
If you are looking at the next fare hike for big capital gain this year. (Short term). No. This counter dun move fast got to wait long for gain... Can find other for much higher return short term return...
Vest in SMRT. part of the portfolio for some stability and div yield
Depend what you are doing with your capital for some quick gain or long term financial plannng

Good counter, consistent earnings, target is at 1.84 - 1.90, I am getting a fair bit for keeping.

don'f forget. Temasek bought some on 12/6. It also bought comfortdelgro. Follow Temasek strategy :)
did not go in last time. Wanted to go in lower but keeps going up. I'm still waiting. Missed the boat. I put into more volatile ones, higher risk but higher returns as well.
Can invest in SMRT anyway, very good counter. Indeed higher volume lately, due to more people switching to MRT instead of car (reported in newspapers). IR etc,higher population etc are factors as well.
why so strong these past week? market drops, it up 1 cent a day :P

Yes. Very high vol. Not sure what is up? But the chart shows downtrend. However, about 1.6 was the bottom some months back. Chart also shows oversold. Still waiting for uptrending signal before i commit. I think can bite a bit at 1.62 to 1.65.
fundamentally, oil should affect this counter. But commuting traffic has increased or will increase in years to come due to IR, F1 etc. So should be quite ok to invest. Safe haven counter like SPH.
Maybe so that they can buy more cheaper.
Does anyone notice that Temasek bought more than 2000 lots of SMRT recently. But why is the price kept dropping for this counter
