Hisaka Holdings, the automation solutions provider launched its IPO of 90m invitation shares priced at $0.23 cents each on 29/4. Application for the shares began on the same day, and will close on May 6 at noon. Trading of the shares is expected to begin at 9am on May 8.
The group, which won the Enterprise 50 and SME 500 awards in 2007 and 2008 respectively, specialises in mechanical motion products. In particular, 70% of its business comes from linear motion products. Its principal activities comprise both service and manufacturing business segments - in 2007, they accounted for 78.7% and 21.2% of its revenue respectively.
In the previous 3 years, profit attributable to shareholders increased from $2.4m in 2005 to $5.3m in 2006 and $6m in 2007. This has been achieved with almost zero gearing.
The IPO is expected to raise net proceeds of $12.5m - $5.5m for potential strategic acquisitions or joint ventures, and $2.5m to expand its sales and marketing team and establish an R&D team. The group plans to use a further $3m to expand its manufacturing facilities in Shanghai, as China's sheer size suggests that it will remain the 'factory of the world, the centre of production and manufacturing'.
