I'm currently using Saxobank's stock screener. Pretty cool. Sends me a report everyday with bearish and bullish signals. FREE of charge if you sign up with them.

Hi, I think most wanna have the Charting Software mainly is to scan for good stocks according to their search criteria and also to do more complex analysis.

For free charting chartnexus is good enough, if not can get amibroker, a very powerful softwware which accept many types of data from many vendors. however it is quite complex to harness its real potential.

my views is also the same, if you wanna do racing with others in the market, it is always good to have a good tools, this will allow you to have a advantage.

personally i think if singgal can have a amibroker or some software for her to scan stocks based on her TA criteria, wouldnt she earn more?

Novena, u can join me in saxobank, i use their brokerage services and they allow u to set auto s/l, buy and sell limit for free. u can use their web platform for trading till their standalone platform are fixed of all the bugs.

anyway, yahoo data got too many errors that i cant really trust their data quality hence i rather pay $ for EOD data.

For real time data, u can consider Shareinvestors Jade Extra for $1 a day. i am using it now. quite decent.

Hi Mani,

Looks like I got lots to learn from you regarding commodities futures.

There are many free charting out there provided by SJ, Saxobank, Chartnexus, IG markets etc... Don't need to pay subscription for it. Just choose one platform you are comfortable with and stick with it.

I agree. Free ones will suffice. Not much need to subscribe to paid ones. You will probably not need 90% of the extra "cool" tools they provide.

I'm using Saxobank's free charting tool now... as well as SJ's and Poem's.

freeware has its limitation but suffice.

For those who want to do screening, may consider metastock, use SGX for EOD.

Of course, SGX EOD is raw and sorting EOD needed to be meaningful to metastock, excel macro will do the job, FOC, otherwise pay the subscription for processed EOD

Singaporegal... :)

Like Forex, commodity futures trading is also very sensitive to news, thus one must be really 'on the ball' all the time. Stocks are relatively tame by comparison. In those days, my favourite futures author is Stanley Kroll, much like Larry Williams is to you now... Smiley

hi

I have actually downloaded a few free charting software

FC Charts, Amibroker etc.

I can link FC charts to yahoo data - but needs to do each stock at a time.... for the first time anyway.

I went to terraseeds to attend their TA courses and found that they are using AMIBROKER.

very intuitive and yet very powerful. it cost only about 400. and when i link to the TAR data source at $88,

I can get End of day data for SGX. With the software, and the training on both the software and on all the TA courses,

amibroker does provide a good platform.

they can be reached at 64923196 - look for patrick for the software - and tell them its matthew that recommend.

Regards

by the way - i am one of the students - with no vested interest in the company......

Singaporegal... good for you...:)

But for me, the danger is nothing new because I have traded commodity futures for a few years before.

(The action is rather similar... highly leveraged, hectic news play, etc, but different kinds of news)... Smiley

I highly recommend you put "www.GraceCheng.com" on your toolbar for ease of reference.
