S$1.71 from 67c, the closing price of Wing Tai on 231008. Nice profit.

Any opinion on Wing Tai since they are also into property? |

9)SembCorp(3.51).
just to kaypoh. Not very well diversified despite 13 counters. Commodity repeated : Olam & Noble. Conglomerate also repeated: Sembcorp & KepCorp. Sembmarine and SempCorp should not be played together. Same for KepCorp & Kepland. Banks are glaringly missing.

crazy_fave....you don't seem to be much into property stocks...only see Kep Land...but like the diversity of your pick...

1. Singapore economy in recession.
2. Full year Sing GDP estimated at 3%.
3. MAS eases monetary policy.
Yeah agree with you! One of the stocks you mentioned is also on my radar:). Buy blue chip, get dividend. That is a very "traditional" concept and at the end of the day, it is + or - for your profit

Singtel not for me, hardly ever bought blue chips.
Am more interested in stocks that can double or triple when bull run starts.
Looking more at China Sky, Midas, Cacola, Man Wah and the like. Swiber looking good too.
These stocks have taken a good walloping lately and downside risks appear limited.
Upside? Double, triple? Worth the risk I say, if you spread your bets.

RMB rise along with Sing so you hardly make anything. Buy US$? Hmm.... their US budget deficit is at a all time high.*Ha*

In Cantonese, it is "sure live" though the number is deemed unlucky in western countries. Any way, for those who may have miss this posting of mine : "Below are my observations and views on the various asset classes : 1) Cash - low interest rates; 2) Stocks - downtrend; 3) Real estates - same as stocks; 4) Foreign currencies vs S$ - US$ and RMB - uptrend; Euro, GBP, Yen, A$ and NZ$ - downtrend; 5) Natural resources - same as stocks and 6) Precious metals - same as stocks. My conclusion is, therefore, to buy US$ and/or RMB as small retail investors living in Singapore have not much choices." |
