The only position you should have open on SPH right now is a short one. It started to rise from December 05 then reversed very strongly off the 50% resistance level in March 06. A previous support level of 4.20-4.22 (reached in June 05 and Dec 05) was smashed through by a strong downtrend. Unless you are a long term holder of stocks then you would be wise to get out ASAP, (or alternatively go short). It might look cheap now compared to 6 months ago, but once in a downtrend you never know just how "cheap" it will end up!

Prior to the announcement of the lst half result and subsequently, a mid term dividend of 7cents, several stock commentators had high assessment of SPH. Above average AR, property in Orchard road (Paragon) and SPH building. SPH also have investment in several other counters.

UOBKayhain went so far as to predict the rise of SPH to $5.40

Can this be a scam between SPH and some unscrupulous stock commentators like in North America and Canada?

Yep.. I agree with buffet. SPH is actually on a slow downtrend.

Look elsewhere if you are going for quick gains.

SPH prices hv not been exciting. it is not a counter for short term investment - more for long term. i dont expect exciting news to come out fm sph. while it has good property in its asset list which it may be selling, these are also providing sph with good annual returns in rentals.
