Comments as below:

1) encourage unhealthy lifestyle, increase public transport cost so pp buy cars.

2) maintain substandard management, govt don't wanna pay their salaries so citizens pay lor

3) tekan the elderly, don't let them move around too much, so they rot at home and don't live past 85, as for the annuities... guess who benefit then..

4) make pp alight a few stops later cos price not increase for longer stages of bus stops

5) whether u agree to pay more or not, doesn't matter cos the so called talents are the ones who approved the fare hike anyway..

Cheers... Just for laugh..

I guess the reasons (only personal view) for increasing bus fare are :

1) to foster healthly life, encourage ppl take more walking instead of taking bus....comment pls

2) to maintain first class standard of manangement (may be will rcruite more talents to run the biz in order to provide supper class bus services.... comments,  pls..

3) to prortect old folks or elderly, make sure they stay at home more than going out gossip to disturb the ordely society. Also to ensure they can live far beyong 85 so that they may enjoy the benefits of annunities.... comments pls....

4) to encourge commuters alight  1 - 2 bus stops earlier then walk a distance to the destination, this will creat a lively Singapore....

5) If all of you do not agree to pay more, then in future or near future, there will have no talents willing to work for us... by the time, who suffer ????

May have some more reasons , but dun wnat to take up so much space loh....

Company makes profit management team gets performance bonus. Company bankrupts, no buses to ride, how? I am more concern on during peak hours, buses still packed with commuters. This issue still unsolved and dragging too long. In view of population increases annually think what going to happen.....

I wonder in the history of Sg's transportation sector, have they ever cut price before during a crisis? Well, COE, ERP, and even road tax goes up/down at times, what about the bus/train/taxi fares?

next yr jialuck Ee will say....due to higher overhead, oil price increase, supply shortage,GST increase on our materials and upgrading of bus stops....we hv no choice but to have a minimum increase of fares.statistics have shown that our fares r still much lower compared to other countries, and we hv a first class transport...fare revision are keep to a minimum...then couple months later the companies will report due to better management, their profits have increased...wat else can their pattern be?
