Open letter of apology to Vic and Ray

Certainly.  This offensive defence would have probably been viewed by many as being an over-reaction and heavy handed if one did not see the complete picture.  I perhaps would have felt the same as well.  There were things that we could not have revealed while we were in the midst of this, I apologise for that.  However it was after some consideration that we decided on this approach and I believe it is the most effective.  Vic's explanation probably gave you a gist of what we knew and how it was crafted.  As legal proceedings may or may not take place depending on whether certain issues are complied with, I cannot explain anymore.  Will update when this is completely over and done with.

US technicals looking bad.  Remember the DJI 13685 resistance level I keep bringing up?  Well last night was the 3rd time it failed to clear it.  The next significant support level is at 13265.  I hope it does not continue to head down that direction and break through it.  Stay very nimble people.

The best thing about using nick is that people can post during "official working hours" and thus ensure a continuous flow of important market sentiments.

However, I would support that the use of multiple nicks should not be allowed.....

and yes, as per eastonbay's perceptive post: personally for me, i have to use a nick. not that i'm against using my own name, but my job sensitivities are such that i cannot be caught on any news media, be photographed, quoted, or such. like heck, even my hp camera function is sealed off. that's why i'm lkg for phones with no cameras.

so yea, if SJ insists on real names, then i'll def have to stop posting. wldn't want that tho... and yep, on elf's part, as with shplayer, def without malice or ill intention. like heck, i'm prob one of those silly few who post plans etc before i buy a counter!....not to mention the techs on counters i don't even own. haha. all caveat emptor, of course. :P

Thanks for the compliments.

He he he, sorry if I did not post too much detail....but I did so for a few reasons:

1. My typing is slooooow...so I keep it brief to save time.
2. I assure you that when I post, the background checks, research have been done....but I dont want to bore forumers with the details.
3. More importantly, I prefer to give forumers the lead and have them verify the details themselves....that way, the newbies will learn.

Once again Sir, your words are profound.  Agree with you absolutely, especially your last sentence.  Also, I'll not initiate on my earlier proposed venture!  *salutes*

 

Agree with Shplayer on two counts:

 

1) His posts are sincere and truthful and often require extra work. I've on a few occassions asked him questions regarding financial statement. He duly checked the figures and post his findings on relevant thread e.g. K1 Venture. (ok ok, I admit I'm one of his fan

 

2) That I do not agree with their suggstion to 'ban' the use of nicks of the sake of privacy and sensitivities. There are quite a few civil servants, military personnel on this forum and banning might force these people to stop posting, e.g. Elfinchilde, Singaporegal. We have also benefitted from the works of fund manager e.g. savvysamyeo. From his posts, we 'saw' fund managers in action. There are many other examples to quote. These people 'hide' behind nicks for good intention. Both Vic and Ray work for themselves as private investors and entrepreneur, that makes it OK for them to use their real identities.

 

What is going on here ? I thought here is for us to discuss and make as much from the SHARE MARKET !!! Please , please , no personal attack on each other and please do not eye red when saw others make $$$. I always believe that those who make $$$ from share marekt is one that they did do homework or have guts and dare to take risk !!!

Anyway, lets continue to live in peace and  share what we have and make more $$$ from the crazy share market. Good Day to all of you.

 

This certainly is a surprising revelation.

My initial thought was that perhaps vic and ray were too robust in their actions against the "young, immature, perhaps mischevious, 25 year old 'surelywin'" even after he has apologised.

Now that it turns out that 'surelywin' is a 'retiree' who also posts in SJ under another nick...... The culprit is a mature adult and should have known better. To hide under a double diguise and make his posts infers to me that his intentions and sincerety is highly questionable and perhaps devious.

From the various posts, I think that there were more to this issue than is found in SJ as I think  the parties have also communicated via emails. So, we do not have the full picture here.

Whilst I can understand Vic and Rays actions, I do not agree with their suggestion to 'ban' the use of nicks. I use a nick because of my personnal desire to remain private.....but I can assure forumers that whatever I post, I post with sincerety. Some may not agree with what I say, but my posts are without malice and ill intentions.

it's  a HUGE lesson for all of us, to be accountable for each post, we can be wrong, but NEVER EVER attack individual personel CHARACTER. Always remember, trying to HURT someone KNOWINGLY can result in recourse, So stick to PICKING and commenting on stocks, NOT picking on the PERSON, It has happened many a time, just that most of us here ignore it, but once we face with reputation at stake and someone who has to manage many staffs at work. thing can and will BOIL fast....end of the day it a HUGE waste of resources

 

I guess in this infocom age, there are many things we can learnt from. One of them is of course taking responsibility for your postings especially in a public forum. You don't know who is out there and who is reading your post. You have to be factual or at least can refer to some available data or link.

I hope we all have learnt from  this episode. Lets forgive and forget. I am sure  this show of magnanimous would be appreciated. Cheers and happy investing.

Ray and Vic, I remember a quotation : " to err is human , to forgive, divine" wonder if I got it right.     You will be greater  human beings if you forgive. Bless you all ( sorry, no holy water to sprinkle).
