More abt merger available on SGX website.  Announcements were made on 31 May 2006 and 30 June 2006. Mention of merger also made in its third quarter financial statement and dividend statement  on 18 October 2006 .  Happy Reading of the info.

Most of the time, a share will correct entirely (last done price less the total dividend) after ex.  It may not correct entirely after ex as the merger  between Nera ASA and Eltek ASA should be finalised (announced?)  at the end of October 2006.  Labroy Marine did not correct itself entirely after ex because of its earnings potential.  If one is a valued investor, it may not be necessary  to sell NeraTel after ex unless it corrects entirely. According to a DMG & Partners' analyst, it should pay an 8.1% dividend (before tax) for the next few years.

Dear Investor,

Since Nera is giving dividend of 15 cents per share (S$150 per lot), presently the dividend is 30% of the current price @$0.51. Should i go in before 3 Nov (xd date) and come out after that.....pls advise your expert opinion!

cheers, lawrence

U're alway welcome. Good strategy to accumulate (inverse pyramid) on weakness (i.e. stagger purchase or sale). At least this share is UNLIKELY to be another fiasco like CAO, Citiraya and a recent China share (doubtful debts due to "sham" invoices). Merger shd lead to increased revenue and profit which shd bode well for this share if one is a valued investor, NOT a contra player. The mkt is supported "artificially" by too many contra players

Nertael ex-dividend on Fri 3 Nov. That is, must buy not later than Thu 2 Nov to be paid the dividend (tax exempt at $150 per 1000 shares) on 13 Nov.

So long as shares are bought before ex-dividend  and not sold by ex-date, one will be entitled to the dividend. One can sell them after ex-date and still be paid the dividend.

May sell b4 ex with dividend, but must be able to buy buy back @ much lower price b4 ex-dividend.  With the short period to ex-date, and price holding firm for the past two days, to sell b4 ex is as good as saying "good bye" to your shares.  Merger shd be announced anytime after 31 October 2006.

It might move up again once the merger between Nera ASA and Eltek ASA is finalised at the end of October. After all, Neratel has been a laggard for the past  few years.

DMG & Partners in its recent report on 21 July downgraded Neratel to "Hold" for its attractive dividend yield of 8.1% ,  in addition to  the possibility of a special dividend arising from its divestment of its shares in NeraElectric.  Instead of dipping,  it has been firming up since then.  Time to accumulate more Neratel shares, as its volume at low price has been low?  Usually, when analysts suggested "outperform" or a higher targeted price for a stock,  it dips and takes some time to recover.    It seems that the converse of  most of such reports is true.  Any comments from other veteran or senior forum participants?

A million thanks to bsiong for going out of the way to post the research report indicating the "buy" recommendation and payment of a special dividend.   A trillion thanks for botheing to point out that it is in page 2 (out of eight pages). Investors should  buy before the stock rallies once the special dividend is announced.

Neratel has been paying dividend of at least 3% for the past few years. U will not make much money, but, at least it is very unlikely to go under. It is profitable and its revenue has been steadily growing .  Make much  money  can also lose much money.  At the low price of 37 cents today, not seen for some time, (though there are very few lots available to buy), it's definitely worth buying, isn't it?

this stock has very low number of transactions. although according to joekoh the fundamentals are good, because the volume is low, you might not make much money from this stock.

at current price of 40 cents, the yield is 7.5% if dividend maintain at 3 cents. is it a good buy at this price? btw, on the 19th May, there was news about NeraElec being bought. Will this have a serious impact on NeraTel, since it owns 60+% of NeraElec?
