do you know how many hotel Hotel Plaza have in Singapore? only TWO ! parkroyal on beach road and parkroyal on kitchener road ! how strong earning they can have from this two hotels in Singapore?
but again, let's look at another perspective. I am looking closely on this counter purely on technical rebound BASED ON RIGHT ISSUE. yeah, I start to learn right issue nowadays, because it has hidden hint to make quick money .
What's the price now of Hotel plaza? closing at 1.74, very pathetic, right? they form three declining top, which is at 2.6, 2.3, and 2.18, and it does tell you it is on downtrending mode.
so, what's the right issue now? they give you 1 right per every 2 shares, 1 right is 1.70 , hotelR now trading at 0.025, so, breakeven price is 1.725, so close to lowest hit at 1.73 on Friday.
My advise is , get anything close at 1.70, when the right application over, the price will spike ( a little) , just look at YongNam.. it is the same scenario... worst case, anyting below 1.70, just buy , the price must above 1.70 for good.
The recent govt curbs to cool the hot property prices really have zero relation to hotel properties, especially for Hotel Plaza or any other hotels for that matter. However, hotel stocks, such as HP, are taking a beating. The future for hotels indeed will be good as world class events such as the F1 race, opening of IRs, and international conventions are lined up. The big buzz will become more prominent as the date to the opening of the first IR at Marina South approaches. Hotel bookings are totally taken up into 2008 and 2009. Hotel Plaza already a beneficiary is going to post strong earnings hereon. Rich dividends are expected to exceed those in 2005 and 06. It is certainly an opportune time to collect now.

With UOL recently buying PanPacific chain, Hotel Plaza will benefit with some of it's hotels be rebranded to PanPac ie Hotel Negara will likely to benefit from this rebranding.
with F1 coming to town next year, definitely good especially for hotels within the F1 circuit.?

Prospect for hotel demand looks promising and NTA of this counter is 2.33. Moreover, XD should not have any damage to the fundamentals of a stock. So my take is up in the long term. Under normal times, this counter usually trade in low volume which is not suitable for contra or intraday trading but good for long term investment. Good Luck.
