Suggest to rethink the Aust $ vs Sing $, since the biz is rather stable. Currently about exchange rate at 1 to 1.21. If Sing$ is strong, then the earning will be diluted somehow. This could offset the original 9% dividend intended. On the other hand, if Sing$ is weaker, of course, you may even get more than 9%...
STABILISATION EXERCISE
UBS bought 5.42 mln BABCOCK & BROWN STRUCTURED FUND shares at $1.01- 1.06 each.
but again the 9% dividend is still quite attractive.
probably wait till it drops below 1 then get? haha

Thanks for sharing! Lucky I never get IPO. Was rather attracted by the 9% dividend ... nearly kenna bluff by bad brown cock.
Do note that most of the biz are in Australia. Do note the possible currency movement between Aust$ and Sing$...
Let's wait for NAV 0.85, so as it get cheaper dividend yield will go up as below. MIIF is trading below and close to NAV
At $1.06, dividend yield = 9% [because of high risk]
$1.00, dividend yield = 9.51%
$0.95, dividend yield = 10.01%
$0.90, dividend yield = 10.56%
$0.85, dividend yield = 11.18%
$0.80, dividend yield = 11.88%
DJ MARKET TALK: Babcock & Brown Off 0.9%; Bids Mostly At 99C 20/12/2006 09:17
0118 GMT [Dow Jones] NEW LISTING: Babcock & Brown Structured Finance Fund (B73.SG) off 0.9% at S$1.05 in thin trade on SGX debut. Dealer says investors possibly unfamiliar with fund's portfolio of assets; "I prefer Macquarie International Infrastructure Fund (M41.SG) because they have a good track record of fulfilling their dividend promise. Secondly, it's an infrastructure play investing in airports, power networks and so on around the world, which is less risky than Babcock's portfolio of assets like loans and securitization assets. Babcock's yield should be much higher so as to convince investors it can manage risks well." Dealer expects fund to trade below S$1.06 IPO price for most of today. Bids heaviest at S$0.99 while offers mostly at S$1.13.(FKH)
Strange ... over 20M shares traded but price went down. Could it be a case of more informed investors accumulating the shares at a lower price?
