Chartered downtrending? What's new.....
TA charts show a possible downtrending coming soon.... but then again, my experience with Chartered is that my TA doesn't seem to work well on this one.
just buy and do not ask me why....hold at mid term 1-6 months for target $2....good luck and not for contra
it seems uptrend for this... is it?
CSM has been Temasek's money losing investment for the longest while. Maybe it's not going private at all. Maybe someone is going to buy over Temasek's shares ?! Let's wait & see ...
erm, wanna add on to what yongwun said.
Cost effective Chartered is not, but the yields for the game console being not good is but a rumour now. Apparently, its now Best in Class...
The older fabs are undergoing restructuring in a bid to bring them up to speed, which means that they are beginning to become more lean thru automation and such. In fact, they will be the first of the old generation fabs to do this. So if it succeeds, we all know what benefits of being the first mover is in this industry.
First Mover = $Ka Ching$

My 2 cents ...
I work in semiconductor field > 10 years.
for a foundry, chartered performance is horrible. They do not have cutting edge technology and also is not cost effective enough. They should have sell all their old FAB (or move them to 3rd world country) ...
The only advantage recently they have is joining the IBM alliance, they get order for game console CPU ... rumour is that yield is still no good ...
Tech stock to climb back to 2000 level ? serious doubt
Look at infineon, started at $35, (in 2000), hit $90+ in 1 year, now only $11+ ...
Can anyone provide a TA analysis of this stock for the trend these few days? Thanks
one of my friends, make a very good comment on technology sector.
he said, semiconductors will not make it unless we have a breakthrough in technology. right now, what we have is what we already had. no new invention to take science and modern technology to a new level. that's why they 1 quater up, 1 quater down...
the breakthrough will come if they come up with new technology like I-robots... keke
erm, there is no new fab coming up for the next few years....
From what I see, I don't think Chartered will be privatised.
Charterd will likely build their new fab soon & STATS will be merged with another chip testing firm.
wah if taken private... then what happens to those who hold for the last 7 yrs?? those hold at $10??? force to take loss?
already forwarned that last few days will be the lowest price you can grap chartered...bye to the $1.4 plus region price...and still stick to $2 call by end of year

last chance to grap this stock at the lower bound price...foresee will head towards $2 by end of year...good TA and FA semiconductor prospects for second half...not for contra...good luck :) |
Chartered is one of my 'darling' stocks... hehe... :)
I always lose money on CSM... this is one counter that is too volatile. Up one day and down the next.
Why don't you just post it here instead of trying to entice people to go to your blog? too lazy to go click on the link lah.
CSM has been hovering moving averages, one of the important things to look out for in a trade. Chart suggests that it might be a good time to analyze Chartered Semiconductor.
Why? Read to find out more
Heard on radio that it is UP today due to "speculation" that CSM may be the next to go private by Temasek .... after StatschP. Let's see if it's true.
still stick to my call for chartered to reach at least $2 by end of year...not for contra..good luck
