Hi Tom you got a good point. I believe besides SUNMOON benefiting from the increase in population, companies like Hanwell, Shengsong. Ntuc and other food and agri commodities companies would benefit. Land and property players are also going to win much since demands will rush and increase.
With our White Pauper being approved making it official towards achieving a population of nearly 7 million, I was wondering where would be our extra food supplies come from to meet our increased demand for food? We are non agricultural, and depend mainly on outside world to provide our staples. It is interesting to note that we are currently quite in a " complacent" state as so far there hasn't been any serious food shortage situation. Let us not wish that a supply crisis to happen. But if it does, God bless us.
Now look out for SUNMOON which supplies alot of food products and fruits. It has business in Singapore as well as in China. Thus if it the company is managed well, its shares would be worth alot in good times and bad times. Time is the dictator and we would watch and just enjoy. Hahaha.
By going for easy " no risk money" way out, in the end those controlling price movements actually discourage stock play defeating the purpose of stock market trading that involves capitalization, true and future pricing and opportunity to make or lose money inline with the fortunes of the market. We can't stop them from destroying confidence can we? Boleh kah?

Your are right. For this kind of counter, market makers just have to block both buy and sell queues and wait for money to fall from heaven. Only company can make price move by buying back. |
