Brokers' reports are to be taken with a pinch of salt. Extract the facts and leave the opinions and emotions aside.



Cool and calculated thinking helps to elucidate the issues at hand and form a clearer picture for an objective analysis.



The hard part is in projecting and using business and common sense to value a company's intrinsic value. Over time, one gets better and better but one has to keep abreast with business news and the latest developments as well.

Southeast Asia's largest property firm CapitaLand (CATL.SI: QuoteProfile , Research) dropped as much as 2.1 percent to S$7.15 after Credit Suisse cut its ratings on CapitaLand to "underperform" from "neutral".

Analyst Melissa Bon said in a note to investors that CapitaLand was not the best proxy for the rallying Singapore property market.


Bon maintained a target price of S$5.78 for CapitaLand, indicating a 21 percent downside.
