can share how CFD works? tks .  If this allows one month to cover the short, then, its a 'sure win' trade! unless there is interests charge while waiting to cover back the short say at the end of 30th days?

thanks for all the replies, beside SW, the difference in poems and cmc is the finance charges right ?

i dont quite understand why for cmc when we short a stock and hold the position overnight, there'll be some $ credit into the account, but in poems it's the other way around ?

why is this so, i thot by shorting, we are actually kind of borrowing some shares from cmc/poems, so rightfully they should be some charges ? else it would constitute as a naked short

Yes the best thing for CMC is we can short many counters which can only long in Poems. Their fees are also cheap. What I don't like is they are market maker.

I am using CMC, Poems. I would say CMC is the cheapest and I am able to short many stocks which are LONG only in Poems.

Different provider has different rate. Poems requires 3k initial deposit but you can withdraw after 1 month. CMC doesn't require anything to open acc but you need to fund your acc before you trade.

You can add my msn fksunky@yahoo.com.sg for more details. I also appreciate you signup as my referral if you want to open Poems account. Thus both of us can get $20 Fairprice Shopping Vouche :p

Yes... the biggest 'problem' faced must be the limited counters offered, thus sometimes precluding one playing a favourite stock of one's choice.

Recently I had intended to heavily short Hengxin when it was high up there, but couldn't as the counter is not available on the trading list.

Bump ;)

Appreciate if you can give their take on the best CFD acc in the market.

Currently using CFD from L&T since mostly I will trade using L&T.
However I find that their offering is limited in the sense that they only offer limited stock on CFD.
