Hi all, we had a discussion on this at CNA forum, just want to share with you all

-----
Btw since we are at the topic of moving averages and we are here to share and learn from one another... I will show through backtesting how SMA200 performs compared to buy and hold... i start of with a favourite of mine F& N F99.
Lets say you bought on 8 Nov 2006 when the price is making an uptrend (not taking into account brokerage charges)
Buy and Hold
Long 8th Nov 2006 @ 3.94
Close 2nd Sep 2011 @ 5.82
Net Profit 1.88
Vs
SMA 200
Various Longs from 12th Dec 2006
Close 2nd Sep 2011
Net Profit 2.65
if you are a katek who do shorting, add 1.31 for total net profit from both long and shorts of 3.96
I'll post the backtest charts and results
