STI started its climb up from around 1205.If that is broken then next support looks like around 800. Do correct me if I am wrong.

Thats what AK fear:
US stock futures trade frozen after plunge

Around 1200 GMT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average futures slipped 550 points, or 6.27 per cent, to 8,224 points, as panicked investors around the world sold off stocks on recession fears.

The broad-market Standard & Poor's 500 futures shed 60 points, or 6.56 per cent, to 855.20 points.

Trading was frozen as futures hit their maximum drops allowed by the Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT) and CME, where they are traded.

'The sharp declines follow significant losses registered in foreign markets overnight and are a reflection of the pressing concerns about the global economy and forced selling by hedge funds and other investors,' said Patrick O'Hare, analyst at Briefing.com.

Wall Street's major indexes closed mostly higher on Thursday in a volatile session marked by investor jitters about recession and some sense that the market may have hit bottom. The Dow rose 2.02 per cent, following a 514-point tumble on Wednesday, and the S&P 500 added 1.26 per cent.

On Friday, Asian markets plummeted to steeply lower closes, while European bourses tumbled in the wake of the panic.

To trigger a one-hour suspension of stocks trading on Wall Street, the Dow would have to fall 1,100 points, or currently 12.6 per cent, before 2pm (1800 GMT). If that decline occurs between 1400 and 1430 GMT, the suspension is limited to 30 minutes; between 1430 and the market close at 1600, trading will not be suspended.

The blue-chip Dow has already lost about 20 per cent of its value this month. -- AFP

It will recover on 28th of November 2008 most probably, another massive interest rate cut globally. (hopefully) before Opec cut its crude oil output instead!!!

What we can do now to rescue the market? Don't buy nor sell nor trade, it is time for us to do simultaneously on Tuesday onward throughout Singapore if possible and continuous for the whole month, (as if placing the market on an emergency halt). In my opinion, I am sure market will recover by itself!!!

richtan      ( Date: 24-Oct-2008 17:10) Posted:

Obviously, it is abnormal, total insanity.

Markets are irrational, tends to overshoot in extremes, tats why there is irrational exuberance in bull mkt & now irrational capitulation in current bear raid.

Just hold tight, mkts will ultimately recover, life is about cycles.

There is bear now, so will there be bull later.
