I think USD meltdown coming soon......avoid USD denominated counters
There is this chinese saying (direct translation into English) = 7 means success/rising, 8 means praying. So 2007 good year while 2008 a bad year? Who knows, just hope that everyone can be happy and healthy for all the years to come..
I am of the opinion that market is probably in the late mark-up phase, but the uptrend is very much intact according to most chartist. However it would be healthy for some correction to occur for a more sustainable uptrend.

"8" sounds lucky only to a particulat dialect group, (but doesn't sound a bit prosperous if uttered in other dialects). So does that make all the believers in that dialect group prosperous?
Furthermore, the belief in lucky-sounding words brings to mind that the dialect sound of "8" doesn't sound a bit pleasant to a westerner. Because it immediately suggests to his mind another kind of sound which brings with it the thoughts of foulness of a large stale squid.

'7' is an heavenly number! I don't think there'll be a huge correction on STI as it is still well supported by the property sectors, Banking and Tourism. The Economy maybe slow down but still a respectable number.
'8' is consider a lucky number by the cantonese 'cos it sounds similar to ' luck' in cantonese. It sounds good only! In fact, this is the year that may trouble the Property Markets (the bubble may burst due to over speculations) and thus indirectly push up the CPI. Cheers!
Consider the year with number 7, mostly down, there might have a huge correction next year to welcome the year 2008 which will be a bull years. Which month? most likely October 07.
