what happening to soup restn group?
its a fact they sold dian xiao er. dian xiao er accounts for 46% of the revenue of soup restaurant. therefore when the next profit statement comes out, my thoughts is that profit will drop. they are also in the midst of opening two outlets more.
packed everyday during lunch whenever i pass by their shop...
biz is really that good!
wonder how's the financials of this stock
btw my offer still holds. if u want to sell / short soup rest below 0.12 before next month, pm me and we ll work smthing out
to be honest, i didnt take the divestment into account.
here's  how i think it would affect the biz
bull-cash from sale, more cash for dividend and working capital, more expansion like going msia
bear-no more contribution from dian xiao er, less biz, maybe less dividend too
so what's the net impact? i dunno. guess we ll just have to wait till next month to find out
u re right. my mistake. they ve sold dian xiao er
they divested dian xiao er due to the lawsuit already

btw what r u looking at for the sort of low cost, high growth biz?
just looking for more ideas. quiet day for me
to be honest, i think those are the challenges facing almost any biz at anytime--competition, rent, staff.
anyway, i think its not so much predicting the future as buying something for far less than its worth.
r u planning to sell / short soup rest below 0.12 soon? tell me n i ll buy it from u
My view is to avoid such SMEs bcos of the mounting challenges facing them: super high competition, super high rent, super difficult to hire staff. Think: with international food choices at every corner in Singapore, what makes it compelling to choose to eat at this particular restaurant? Even reunion dinners are available at very value prices in zi char stalls in coffee shops and every  Chinese restaurant.

i dunno. part of going for value counters. theres usually no news but at least u can go to all the san zhong liang jian n dian xiao er to see if they have customers
Mine saw the light i think last week but since went under again

thats usually what makes stuff undervalued. no news no one pays attn until it goes up by a lot. its the downside of buying stuff cheap. its boring until it starts working out
hope the losses are not too big for u to ride things out
I got this counter..... Erm no news also cause it to be so quiet... Been a supporter thru the dian xiao er saga... Still in losses tho...
forgot to mention. its a valuation play. just dont pay too much attention to the charts--the volume is so low the charts dont even make sense.
more for investment than trading coz it tends to gap a lot when it moves from low vol.
next earnings announcement shld be next month. for last yr results
no volumn, can't trade. Have to wait for big fish to come first or some big news to stir the interest like the recent JB Food.
pple know its restaurants but dont seem to know the counter itself. classic peter lynch style.
its current price in the 0.128s dont justify its dividends and growth. its co-founder also bought in at 0.12
calculations to justify why current price doesnt reflect dividends first. just skip if it doesnt make sense to u
classic school stuff, ddm model assuming constant dividend and no growth, discount rate at 4%, dividends at 0.0085, theoretical intrinsic value = 0.2125 ie 0.0085 / 0.04, 3% gives 0.283, 5% gives 0.17. all of them are higher than the current price. this suggests that not only is growth not priced in but the current price doesnt even reflect full value of dividends.
so what's bad? low trading volume. takes a long time to build up a position
