well, now the market is taking higher risks so telecom sector which is the safe haven in market turmoil may not seem so appealing to traders and investors now. This is probably why the price is against the STI trend now. personally, I just bought Cosco Corp. higher risk and higher return. the manufacturing index of china probably showed that people in china and hong kong are really BULLISH about their stock exchanges. Thus, I bought the S-chips. :D
I think STI has reached the final leg (final rally stage) and will be weak this week? .. Shall wait patiently to enter the stock again.

sold for $2.87
wait for price to drop a bit first then i go in again :D

last friday, singtel and starhub suddenly rose before close. wonder if the cash-rich investors were bargain-hunting...
or probably between $2.85 to $2.90. In such volatile times when ppl do not know where the market is going to head, I would rather take up defensive telecom shares to diversify my portfolio :D
you're welcome. :D probably, I will get more at $2.95 :D
did singtel make an announcement on sgx yesterday saying that it had bought back around 1.75mil shares at $2.97 to $2.99??? the announcement seems to be posted on sgx yesterday.
singtel CHEONGing NOW!!! :D
singtel has already dropped from a recent high point of around $3.08. Now only around $2.80. there is already a correction of around 9%. I believe that correction is in the range of 5 to 10 %. so definitely, I think that it is a good price to go in :D
just got it :D singtel may post more profits for the next quarter as aussie dollars go up:D target price is near $3.80 which is rather strong. Considering the current quarter was based on a weak aussie dollar, I think the strengthening aussie dollar will make singtel shoot up:D
Phillips security 0n 18 may says singtel fair value $3.80. They quite bullish huh ! (Their buy call inApril was 2.55)
Any bro can help to reveal next resistance for SINGTEL is ?

SingTel is due to report its 4Q09 results on 14 May before market opens. We had earlier expected revenue to show a modest QoQ decline (<5%) as we expect the economic slowdown to exert a slight toil on its business; the weaker AUD is also expected to negatively impact its consolidated revenue. But based on the relatively upbeat quarterly results from its peers MobileOne and StarHub recently, as well as the strong 4Q09 results from 33%-owned associate Bharti Airtel, we may see better-than-expected showing from SingTel. Another area of earnings surprise could also come from forex gains, as the regional currencies have appreciated some 2-5% against the SGD over the quarter. In line with the recovering equity markets around the globe, we note that share prices of its listed associates have also risen over the quarter, with Bharti up as much as 16%. However, we are still not entirely convinced that a sustainable recovery has taken place, given that fundamentals continue to lag the sharp rally in share prices. As such, we will hold off making any revisions to our SOTP fair value of S$3.09 until we see the 4Q09 results. In the meantime, we retain our BUY call.
Aussie $ now worth S$0.97, droping fr high of 1.35 early this yr.
60% of Stel profit is fr Aus business. Stel will not feel good if Aussie dol sinks further.
Anyway stock prices mainly are market driven. Hence, thats your choice, as diff people view the market differently.
AK view only FYI. Cheers.
Could it be a "good buy" @ current price of $2.5~$2.6? Temptation to buy arrive this time....
