You will know when -
(1) your score increases in MyCorner 
(2) to the left of each message posted, you see a green tick and a red cross.

Green tick - good post
Red cross - bad post

 

I am a newbie and have done a few postings. However, I have not done any rating although I must say that most of the postings are good. I am not even aware of the ranking till now when Admin Supreme sent out this announcement. By the way, how will one know that a good or bad rating is given ?

 

Everytime I reach "Senior" status, somebody would bad post me until I'm "member" again. Not that I care about the rank very much ..  but it just shows how Bo Liao some people are.

Anyway, thank you Admin!

Thank you for the intervention.  I was once given a bad post for opining and thought it was unnecessary considering the fact that I was pretty new and simply expressing my personal thoughts.

I'd encourage Forummers to just ignore the rating like the 'noises' in the Market. As long as you're sincere in speaking your mind, it is the best for the Forum.

A Good Post deserves A Better Reply! Cheers and have a good day.

We recieved complaints from forummers who have consistently recieved a large amount of bad post ratings. It appears that a small group of users indiscriminately give large numbers of bad posts just to reduce the reputation score and rank of others without reason.

The Good Post/Bad Post rating was meant to allow forummers to encourage others who have contributed well or to censure other forummers if they wander off the thread of discussion or if they post inappropriate or offensive materials.

We have altered the scoring criteria. You can still give a Bad Post rating to censure others, but it will no longer have an effect on the reputation score. We will continue to monitor the situation.
