elfinchilde : it is not possible to directly upload images from your PC to SJ i use www.freeimagehosting.net and www.photobucket.com to upload from my PC and then use the 'mountain sun' button (2nd from smiley button) to upload the image/chart to SJ actually , I too had wondered if Admin had something to directly upload our charts from our PC .. |
( learnt from Alligator .. thanks Alligator .. : ) ... can check my earlier postings on how i did it ... : )
Ok, next time round pse provide the URL then instead of images. tks for d advice. Cheers.
Like what zhuge_liang says, you need to key in the URL of the image. SJ does not allow images from your own computer.
the URL of the image below is - http://www.arrakeen.ch/asia97/012%20%20Merlion%20on%20Sentosa%20Island.JPG
You entered the url of this thread (webpage link). You should be entering the url of an image. An image usually ends in the following extension: .jpg, .gif or .png

Hello, our dear SJ Admin On Desk, can give advice? Tks.
you may want to use the following freehosting service. quite easy to navigate and understand. good luck on trying out
http://www.freeimagehosting.net/
I tested using sharejunction webpage image with insert/modify image and URL of image, it turned out the above. How come?
From the editor, click the "Insert/Modify Image" button. Then type in the URL of your image. You can also enter the Alternate text (tooltip), layout and spacing if you're an advanced user. Finally, preview before posting. HTH.
Come to think of it, I attempted to post donation information (eg Red Cross, etc) here a few times.
The screen told me they were all posted successfully; however, the actual message did not appear.
I assumed SJ wanted people to earn $, not give out $... hee hee.
missing or blocked images, is Firewall at server end in action???
Would like to know how to "upload an image to sharejunction website for it to be viewed". Thx.
I usually just linked it to another webpage. It could be webpage changes leow and image also disappeared.
Besides being deleted, other reasons could be too large, posted an image on your hard disk, image renamed or moved to another location. You should upload the image to your website for it to be viewed.
Noted in many past messages with images posted by forumers, some images got missing (or deleted?) sometimes after postings. Does anyone know why?
