Hi Cathy,

I also pulled out the "Shorting Information" thread for you just in case you may want to read it.

No limit on short sell and no penalty inforce, unless u naked shorting, then CDP will force to buyin for you at 11.30am's price+2bids higher on T+4 and comms is 0.75%+++. Broking house may black list you if you conducted too often on naked shorting as they don't the comm fr you, CDP takes  almost all it. Solution, open few more accounts on diff broking house loh. Ha ha, I got 4( 3 on line one manual) registered under CDP.

Normally, proposed CD will last for 2-3 mths. Such long period is due to coy need to consolidate their annual report to be distributed 2-3 weeks earlier to the share holders prior to the AGM. Audit coy process also added into this buffer period.

XD will be a week or so after AGM. Declared CD and proposed CD are to be proposed, seconded and no objection from the shareholders during the AGM. So far never heard of shareholders against the resolutions during the AGM.

Hi loyfam88:

Never count the days so not sure usu how long.
Guess this depends on the co cos at times, it feels like FOREVER.

Not surprising for price drop after divvy though NOT a MUST (e.g. COSCO didn't drop @ recent XD).

Usually how long is the "cd" period for shares. Does the price usually falls after ex-dividend?
