SPC is good buy at around $5.05. It will hit $6.00 by year-end.

Oil price will remain high if not higher, due to a lack of new supply.

Hi prettylisa,

Not really. Oil price has dropped from its record high of around US$75/barrel. Moreover, oil stocks are falling together with the other stocks. Maybe when oil price moves up to US$70-US$75, then oil stocks will go up too.

mamasan,

Huricane season begins around July to sept.....whether there is another Katrina or not is left to be seen. But, certainly, any threat to Gulf of Mexico oil production or USA southeast coast refinery operations will trigger a tightening of oil/gasoline supplies.

Hi buffet,

Yes, Jeruk is good news.....3200bbl/day is with choked flow...i.e. not full potential cos its was just an appraisal well and testing was constrained by equipment available. But, having said that, it will still take a couple of years before this find converts to revenue stream as they need to put the production system in place....and this involves $mmm investments.

Perhaps a more immediate new upstream revenue stream will be the Oyang field....albeit production potential is less than initial assessment and commencement of production has been delayed by about a year (initial production commencement date was mid 2005). Production from Oyang is now expected to begin mid 2006....just in time to catch the hurricane season where oil prices are expected to strengthen.

Other than that, don't forget SPC is also involved in some exploration offshore Vietnam which showed some initial promising finds.

is this news confirmed ? i read abt the oilfield for many months but i dont get a good feel there are significant positive impact on spc yet.... and i am looking fwd to some really real impact annoucement from spc or analyst. i bv been accumulating spc and cld hv unloaded with some profits but not doing so because i am simply excited by the EPS of spc. long term if it continues its eps performance, i think spc is worth double what it is now.... like china aviation (its quarter eps is simply amazing.)

Hi Nostradamus,

Thank you for the info. I think any oil related stocks will be good buys now. Right?

Highly encouraging results from Jeruk-3 well. The well flowed oil at 3200 bpd with associated gas. The oil flow at this rate lends further weight that Jeruk is a significant oil discovery.

As a result, Merill Lynch has upgraded its price target to $6.50.
