GIANT IN THE MAKING NEEDS PACKAGING TOO, GOOD!!! 6 May 2010, 2008 hrs IST,PTI NEW DELHI: The Spice Group on Thursday said it has appointed Ogilvy India to handle advertising account worth Rs 100 crore for its telecom-related business as it looks for a brand revamp. "The size of the deal is estimated around Rs 100 crore. The final transaction will be through within a few months. By June this year, Ogilvy will start working (on the account)," Spice Global Group President Global Brand and Marketing Vivek Bali told. Under the deal, Ogilvy India will handle advertising for Spice's mobility businesses of handsets and devices (Spice Mobiles), telecom retail (Spice Hotspot) and mobile VAS (Spice Digital). It was earlier handled by contract advertising for two years. Bali said the initiative is part of the company's effort in the recent past to revamp its brand identity and bring all its businesses, including handsets and devices, retail and Mobile VAS under one umbrella brand. "In the last few months, we have been working on revamping our brand image visually. We are in the process of giving a single identity, bringing all our verticals -handset, retail and mobile VAS- under one umbrella and build one power brand," he said. Asked about the duration of the contract Spice Group has entered with Ogilvy, Bali said the deal is a "long-term one" but declined to disclose the time-frame. He said the company has changed its logo for its mobiles and is focussed on giving more visibility to the brand. Speaking on bagging the mandate from Spice, Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman & Creative Director South Asia, Ogilvy India said, "We are confident that we would be able to provide the depth of strategic and creative support to take the brand forward to the highest levels of value and equity." Besides other businesses, Spice Group currently provides value-added services in telecom and is also in mobile handset business.

Today AGM was good.
Modi seemed to be sending signal to buy or at least hold.
They are possitive with the present and future bizs.
Profit taking plus Greece contagion. More to come it seems.
