Daiwa cuts PCCW (00008) target to HK$1.75, "underperform"
Daiwa lowered slightly its target price for PCCW (00008) to HK$1.75 from HK$1.78, and maintained its
"underperform" rating, to reflect the intensifying competition and prospect of flat earnings growth.
The house believes aggressive promotion of broadband Internet-access services by PCCW's competitors is
likely to cause PCCW's market share to peak in 2010 if the company does not change its current business
strategy.
Daiwa added the loss of exclusive rights to broadcast the Barclays Premier League (BPL) to i-CABLE
(01097), and the potential entry of i-CABLE and City Telecom (01137) in the terrestrial TV market may
delay PCCW's nowTV breakeven timetable. (KL)

This stock suddenly rose to 0.215 today before residing to 0.195 for closing. Any ideas who is jacking up the price.
This burger hits 0.195 today after staying around 0.18 for quite while......anyone cares to comments if this rally will continue.
Seems like there is some heavy buying on this stock if I see correctly......any comments what's happening ?
Is this stock worth keep for the long term ? I have some shares which was previously bought at 0.24 and wonder if I should buy now at 0.2 to average my cost.

Pls do your own research. Study the profit & loss, free cash flow statements, current assets to current liabilities, the interest paid on loans, NAV (which was $0.003 btw).

does not quite make sense though: if PCRD is taking PCCW private => PCRD will lose money, since they need to pay for the stake in PCCW. PCCW shareholders aren't willing to sell at even $5 per share, which means PCRD needs to offer a hefty premium to PCCW: ie, further decrease in PCRD's NAV.
It's like NOL wanting to buy over the dutch firm. Generally for takeovers, the px of the taken company increases, the px of the taker decreases.
Where there's speculation is because of the cash dividend that may be paid out. key word: MAY.
ppl shdn't hold too high hopes though: Richard Li failed twice in this bid already. Also, if the deal does go through, once the cash div is paid out--if any--it means PCRD's px will fall by equivalent.
all in all, nothing much to shout about. The charts give a red flag. this is a counter that averages about 200 lots per day on average, but will show sudden spikes to 1,000-2,500 lots suddenly.
