Thailand's economy rebounds in second quarter

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Thailand's economy expanded by 2.3% in the second quarter from the first quarter, according to media reports of official data released on Monday. However, the Thai economy contracted by 4.9% in the second quarter from the same period a year ago, reports said. In the first quarter, the Thai economy contracted by 7.1% year-on-year. Bangkok's SET stock index rose 1.3% on Monday.
