Rule T+3, YES
Just a little clarification, based on my experience only.
1. Your question is BUY. for BUY , at least i know my broker give me 1.5day allowance to pay up before force sell. They will call to ask you PAY first. If you want to sell you can tell your broker to do for you at a nominal fee. Sometime we forget, delay, or even on last minute we have urgent overseas trip and could not do the fund transfer in time . This situation that requires our broker help in closing the unsettled deal.
I suggest you Call your broker to check so that you are 100% sure. Dont take my experience as a sure thing. Each broker is different in handling rules.
2. if it is a SELL order , it is strictly T+3 settlement. Broker cannot help!
The logic is , the broker do not know the seller's CDP account ( or CPF account via agent bank). So this SELL report become available only after CDP run report and send to Broker next day. If the seller did a NAKED SHORT, then the SGX / CDP procedure will be T+4 BUY-IN plus fine.

No lah, there is allowance as this system is run by human not by computer. This T+3 is between you and your broker. If you are having good track record on payment with your purchases, he can give you allowance, but at his own risk.
Their system will flag out your 'outstanding, or unsettled contract' and your broker or some associate will call you on Friday to chase for payment because the unsettled amount becomes his risk of bad debt...He will also ask you to provide proof of payment ( if you paid a little late, says 9.30pm Thursday) , such as bank transaction record for them via fax/email etc. If you settle it on Friday they normally will not bother since they have so many transactions in one day to clear.
Sometime we read other people T+5 and get more confuse. Actually big timers sure get T+5 from some brokers, especially when they have good record of payment.

Very clear case of 'don't fix what's not broken'.
And 'more complex is not better'.
Meh, old one was faster, effecient and easy. There's a reason why there's usually functional separation in software, instead of doing everything at the same time.
Oh yes, many complain to them. You can read this on this link and their response

AK opines that there is no major hitches at SGX server. No problem for AK to talk with them, though with only 3 Mhz bandwidth on phone line. No problem either on phone banking, Gov interection, CDP acc status, emailing etc.
Note book n desktop settings are important to make the pooling smooth.
Beside those health care stuff posted earlier, perhaps now u make d habbits to delete catch, ie delete file n history once u hv completed the online biz. D other thing is that make sure your Java (Sun, MS) is on latest version, esp only for WS 2000,2003,2008 XP n Vista, min JRE(Java Routine Environment) 1.6.0_11 n MS VM(Virture Machine) is on JIT Compiler. Can select these at Tools, Internet Option, Advance pull down manu. For Mac user, no diff.
Free download on Java at Website Java. com. Ha ha, on the otherhand, u can complain to your broking hse that u got problem to access d online website, they will send u the step by step instruction to clean up your terminal on free.

I would like to share my comparison here for some of you to refer to. Perhaps you might need to review the hardware and consider firefox .
Also in my observation, Java took time to load, chart ploting use java and become slower. Therefore, may be you need to consider upgrade hardware especially RAM. One hint is to see your hard disk signal light, if it keeps blinking after you load sgx website, then it is a signal to tell you that the comp is busy using hard disk and RAM together to work on very large program, so it will be very slow.
Sometime we have no choice but to catch up with new technology and pay more for hardware to enjoy the new things.
I compare one old comp and one new comp:, my internet is Starhub maxonline express, 8M download speed and 768Kb upload speed.
1. Old comp, Intel Pentium 1.6G CPU, 900M RAM, Win XP,
run firefox, the website load in may be 8 seconds. If i open all-in-one, it is several seconds. if i type a company name , due to chart plotting it is slower , like 15 second to 20 second.
Using IE7, loading sgx website initially take much longer, like 20 - 30 second, after that all in one info is quite fast, similar to firefox
2. New comp, Intel Core 2, 2.4G CPU, 4G RAM. Win vista
run firefox, very fast, all in one info about 2-3 seconds, type company name , click, chart and all information take may be 4-6 seconds
run IE7, take longer time to load, once loaded, it runs equally fast like firefox.
at time it becomes very slow on loading. what i do is to use a simple software to erase all the IE cache and other things to speed up loading and processing.
As such i prefer firefox which is really fast and less problem.
