Surgical mask is the recommendation for this pandemic (unlike Sars which recommends N95) .. It is up to individual if you want double protection..
N95 masks (or other brands which serves same purpose) are used to protect against the airborne germs and bacteria. it fits firmly around the nose, cheekbones, lower jaw (chin) which prevents breathing in any particles, for example those working in the coal, iron ore, flour industry. dats why some ppl may have difficulties in breathing after donning the mask if you are not used to it. surgical masks can't help much. if you are suffering from flu or cough, then surgical masks will come in handy as it will prevent the germs getting airborned if you cough or sneeze. another mask which works well is those kinda "duck" mouth shape. i do not know the brand though.

Anyother singapore commpany that had N95 mask?
this company "3M" produces the N95 mask and also other series of masks.. one important thing i must make it clear, i am not working for 3M.. but i do use the N95 mask though... :)
