I always think that M1 will be taken over soon especially given that the share price is making takeovers cheaper now. M1 is too small to fight against Singtel or Starhub.

M1 CEO quit... Look like M1 will become a takeover target soon... My 2cent guess. Dont ask me why...

Starhub is focused mainly in the domestic Singapore market but Singtel is regional.

My opinion is that because it is highly like that the regional Asian economy will perform better than Singapore (newspaper report that Singapore economy will likely be the weakest in 2009), Singtel would better weather the storm.

Hi would like to seek the views of the experts out there - for mid term hold, approx 18 months, which counter will be better to hold on to?

i read recently about Starhub being fully valued at 1.94, pls facing increasing operating cost margin pressure.

on singtel i m geenrally not sure, but i personally dont enjoy their services on the ground.

pls advise. thanks

Ha ha, problem. Around noon, tel n/w down, internet broke halfway n home phone line cut as well. Conducted fault finding on the broad-band link up to phone incoming pt, to no avail.

Wait loh. Resume service around 1.10.

I think both telcos are facing the same problems,  which could be due to increased competition.  Retail clients are allowed to switch mobile operators without changing their handphone nos should be one of the reasons.

From time to time,  I have reports on singtel, starhub and M1.  If you don't mind,  u may want to subscribe to my daily mailing list for stocks and shares.  Please email me at tplim1975@gmail.com,  if u are interested.

Starhub offers better dividend yield than SingTel (9.28% Vs 4.9%). But Starhub has no fixed policy in distributing dividends; whereas, SingTel promises 45-60% of underlying net profit. SingTel is ranked No: 1 in Market Capitalisation and S/Hub is 27. My choice now is SingTel. Cheers!
